Firstly a huge thankyou to forum member Pirvu Eugen for helping with this, without him, my car would still be in a million pieces and I would have probably left it out for the vultures...!
In 2 days, we managed to renew the clutch, both gearbox supports, all engine mounts, brake bomb, rear main oil seal and gearbox output seals, 2x outer CV boots, rear diff seals (input and output) rear control arms, cam cover gasket and last but not least, a potentiometer for the ACC which meant half the dash had to come out....! I'm sure I've forgotten some stuff, but this was the main list)
All this was done on a pair of axle stands in the road....!!!!!!
The exhaust bolts were all seized and had to be cut, and new spring tubes were fabricated from some stainless, new rubber boots were fitted to the front ARB drop links as they were almost split.... Most other bolts came out without too many problems, apart from the prop to rear diff, which were very rusty and incredibly hard to undo...
No power tools were used for anything, but they were 2 very long days....!!
Very pleased to have done the main oil seal, as the bell housing area was full of oil and was evident the seal was the culprit, also the release bearing was totally shot, but infact the clutch itself wasn't in too bad shape...Cam cover gasket also leaking quite badly at the rear, and had to put 2 thread inserts for the front 2 bolts as they had been overtightened in the past...
Torqued up the spark plugs, which were not loose exactly, but not as tight as they should be...
After all this hard work, we finished at about midnight, he wouldn't let me leave with a dirty car, fingerprints on various bits, so he proceded to wash it....!!
So, again, thankyou Eugen...!

Some pictures for fun...
Work is being done...yes, it is in the street...!

oil seal is shot...

bell housing, might be a bit oily....

Forgot to say, on my way to Eugen, at 5am, I hit a large lump of wood on Romanias impeccable roads.... this was the result, the rear wheel was even worse, but fortunately held air.... the front one (pictured) lost air, but I did have a spare....
Repaired very well, for 10 GBP per wheel, boy, was I lucky to not ruin the tyres too, amazingly they were fine.....!!!!
