McLaren should be sacked NOW!!! English team rubbish!

Steve McLaren has disgraced English Football by blaming the referee for his subpar team losing. He has shown that he was never suitable for the job and he will never be suitable. He is totally in the toilet to think that Engalnd has a remote chance to make it to Euro 2008. What is he smoking? What color is the sky is this nit-wits world. Get Jose Morinho into the job and England may have a chnce to win the next World Cup. As it stands now.....England has about as much of chance of winning anything as Andoria has. Heads should roll at the FA for even hiring McLaren.

I tried desperately hard not to listen to the news etc during the afternoon yesterday as id planned to watch the BBC one coverage later on in the evening... but overheard someone in the petrol station moaning on about the result on seeing the match well england looked very err... `panicked` on that surface and if it wasnt for Sol Campbells and Gareth Barrys superb performances things could have been a lot worse. The penalty never should have been (even the linesman who was 3 metres away didnt give it the ref did ) but at the end of the day we lost and are now relying on other teams to help us through (not ideal obviously) Really thought after the last couple of matches we had got a pretty decent team together but hey ho

I think McLaren has taken the easy option by blaming the ref, when really he should be blaming the players for being such a bunch of half-committed, lazy, overpaid oiks who look like they basically don't give a flying monkey's about playing for England.

At least with the England rugby team when they got utterly minced by SA 4 weeks ago the players took it upon themselves to take responsiblity and turn it around - they realised it was their fault and got stuck in. Couldn't see that happening in Football somehow.

I think the way forward for English football is to sack the entire crop of "Premiership Stars", pick a crop of relatively young players from the 1st Division (oh sorry, the Championship) and keep them together as a team who meet and play regularly for 4 years. Then they might stand a chance. Hey, maybe then get the team to compete in the 1st Division to start with and see if they could get promoted to the Premiership as a whole team of English players. ...

To be honest the result yesterdy did not surprise me. Although we won the last few games were really that good? Russia away are a really poor side and Estonia ae poor home or away! Looking at the Estonia game we didnt really hammer them like a world class team should. 3 goals, one deflected, one OG and one lucky nut megs hardly convincing really. As for last night we just didnt have a leader to take the game by the scruff of the neck. We needed a Paul Ince type of player. Remeber when England went to Italy and got a 0-0 to qualify for the World Cup? Cant see these boys beng able to do that. Not sure about Mourinho im not his biggest fan. In my opinion he done ok as Chelsea manager but not amazing. I hate to say it but Arsene Wenger is a better manager and that coming from a spurs fan is painful to say!

People are looking at the result and not the game

England dominated the 1st half, if Gerrard had scored with an easy chance it would have been 2 nil game was dead.

I wouldn't blame Mclaren for the result but his team selection, Robinson and Lescott should not have been selected and why was Downing brought on instead of Defoe??????????????
