    as above can anyone tell me what this means in german please
    Hi, bitte in Deutsch. LG Denny
    have used babelfish and it translated as this

              "Hi" - short for "hinten" = rear or back in engl.

                      German is like any language it uses english phrases/slang as well. Hallo is most common, but so is hi and other numerous phrases. Any translation sites will only give you an idea of whats being said and it will be hit and miss and some words cannot be translated.
