    MOT's and garages

Put my girlie in for her MOT today, passed with flying colours :-). The garage had two other S2 Coupes in being worked as well!

Which leads me to the other half of this post... If anyone needs a garage to work on their S's then you cannot go wrong with contacting The Autopool 26 Langley Park Road, Iver Bucks. Right behind Fontain's car showroom. They know their S2's from A2's

Solved my squeaking on left lock only and only when cold too!!

Did they have any ideas on your weird wheel noise? Still haven't sorted mine out yet. Passed the MOT last week fine though so it can't be too serious.

If you saw a pearlescent white S2 on the ramps yesterday then that'll be my baby being lifted onto her new suspension

Should have been changing the cam belt and a leaking oil pressure sender, but the bumper is fused solid on the front wheel arch bolts! So rather than get them to cut my bumper i said i would sort it and book it into them again!

Just getting a 4 wheel alignment done and replacing a read diff seal leak and i will be away today!!!

They look after quite a few rs2's apparently and do some prep work for Fontains round the front who are an (all model) audi specialist.

          Cheers,

From memory that's who Fontain's use as hteri local workshop.
They did the MOT for Fontain just before I purchased my Avant from them last year.

Nice to know they meet with your approval.

AmD are looking after mine at the moment. I'll find out today if the MOT was succcessful and the damage done to the old wallet.

I thought I recognised the white Coupe David!! when I was there they had the headlining down, the tailgate un-bolted on the floor and the radio out... didn't realise you had to do this for new suspension

There was a blue RS2 in there yesterday, I wonder if he'll notice that his front bumper is now silver and has S2 lights in it?? Now where my silver spray paint!!

Yup, Autopool get the thumbs up for sure Hope you pass the MOT Michel and teh bill isn't too bad....

Martyn, the % of your parts on the car is increasing so you should be able to see the hologram vagparts when the sun catches it from some angles..

Some garages would have u beleive that new shocks and springs was an engine out affair if they think you'd buy it!!!!

They seem like a good lot....

I just had my 4-wheel tracking done by Audi.. They couldnt do it all, something about track rod ends siezed

So i said stupidly 'How much to fix em?' Wishing for a LOW number .. 'errr, around £600 quid mate'

But its ALOT better, I can really fly round the corners, car sits nice and flat. But still want it fully aligned.

Soak em in penetrating spray, then do it again, and again, and again too....then go to a quickfit or someone who isn't scared of using a bit of heat on them and they'll be fine. Failing that speak to martyn

                    Cheers,

If the track rod ends are seized, you need to pop the track rods out off the steering arm and then take the track rod and adjuster off as one thing. You can then get it in a vice or soaked in a bath of hot oil to get it released - I had to do this on mine - or the garage, that was doing the alignment, did and he didn't charge any extra

Cover them in copper grease so they next time it is easy to do.

Please don't take it to kwik fit - they are f@#4ing muppets :wacked:

                        Little update.
Car just passed its MOT......sigh of relief.

Ignition switch replaced and all electrics restored....thank you for all your help, saved me and AmD time and money on that one. Also hats off to the two Audi dealers involved, Wimbeldon adn Executive who managed to get the part needed from one warehouse to another and finally onto AmD.

The 'strange noise I heard was the inner brake disc guard(?) rubbing against th disc. Something had caused it to bend onto the disc and it was rubbing on the disc.

Now I just need to go and get it and pay...ooppps.
Looks as if I'll have to wait until Sturday and brave a TT gathering at AmD to get it.

                            David,

what's really happening with your COupe is that sooner or later ALL the parts on your car will be mine, then you'll have to give it me ME I've always wanted a Pearl White car I'd have to cut the rear quarter panels about though.. there's something wrong with yours?? they slope back at 45 degrees when they should continue straight across the estate section.. odd!!

Glad you car passed too Michel

£600 QUID for track rod!!! no way!!! come round here, we'll do em together for under a hundred!! I'll pass you any tools you need to do the job, and as many beers as you can drink! Good job it's not me offering this to Doug huh

                            Happy S2-ing everybod.
