I'm good thanks, I'm currently travelling Southeast Asia in an attempt to ignore the fact that I can't get a job I want! I miss cars a lot, but otherwise it's great.

I found the S4 drove in quite a similar way to my 80, the power delivery even felt similar, perhaps it was the lack of turbo lag which made it feel slow. I think the RS4 was probably what I was looking for, I'd like to drive one. I've decided to build my 80 into an RS2 saloon, I've got most the running gear, some body trim and some interior bits. I'd just started on the engine before I left. I'm aiming for big power.

What you say about it never failing to impress is exactly what I'm aiming for. I really love my 80 and it's very capable considering its age, but it needs to be faster. My TVR is possibly too far the other way, it's exhilarating but also exhausting to drive anywhere near the limit. I want something inbetween.

I dont like the way they are so temperature dependant and they dont like pottering around town and going slow very much either. These (Plus money) was the reason I sold mine.

Must of been something wrong with yours then, mine is fine around town!
Even Aidan's 650bhp one is fine around town (apart from an agressive clutch) it drives no different to a stock one.
I do agree with you regarding temperature, but its only really hot days where it becomes noticable, and how many of those do we get a year in the UK?
Anyway, its easily solved with a water injection kit.

As for comparing it to an S2, I would NEVER go back!

Well, today was planned as the day I gave her a good going over ready for sale.
We are wanting to move house and I could have used the funds to put a larger deposit down, BUT we've now decided now's not the right time and we are staying put for a while at least.
She will be for sale eventually, but not just yet.
Made the decision a couple of days ago, but as I'd booked Grandma to look after the little one, the time to give her a good detail was not to be missed.

Hi Jason gutted to hear your selling your gorgeous RS4 bet your really upset? I don't think you will have any issues selling her as its got to be one of the finest RS4s around seen her in the flesh last year and was outstanding. Do you think you might be looking to go back to a S2??

Hi mate.
She's not going just yet.
I was due to go up a rung at work, which would have given me a pay bump, hence new house.
But, decided to go down a different avenue, which sees my wage stay the same for the next couple of years, but then almost give me another half again to what I'm already getting at the end. Same company, just a different avenue. Staying with the engineering and not going the management route (will leave that to the stress heads who like to strut and shout at people)

So house move put off for now.

I may even keep her later on, depends what the prices have risen/fallen to by then.
RS4 prices nose dived not long after I bought her, but have steadily risen back up to around what I paid back in late 2010.

Missus is not to pleased, but then women can't seem to see ahead more than when their next hair appointment is

Long time no update. Got some time off, so catching up with the internet.
Still loving the RS4. Mighty car.

Fox Motorsport Wheels MS007 10"x19" tyre size 265/30/19. ET35, so running with 15mm hubcentrics to get back to stanard ET20.
Bought from Rob aka polishing_frenchman. Super smooth deal and an excellent host.

A treat to myself after being given a **** deal by the doc with a basel cell carcinoma, then winning £8610 at work. Life deals everyone good and bad hands. Ya just gotta make the best of it!!

Also after some excellent tuition from Rob, I'm on refurbing the silver leather. Awesome results from Gliptone cleaner and scuffmaster.
