Fuel tank

I had a small leak from the fuel tank of my 1993 s4 saloon. It's a metal tank. I did a temporary repair which has lasted a year and a half so far. Can I replace it with the tank from a 1996 s6 saloon or avant. Not worried about volume just will they fit.

Apparently they are the same between saloon and estate and between S4 and S6.

Ive got one from the S4 estate ive broken, I'm gunna check / repair it and fit it to my S6 as i intend on keeping my S6 long term.

All c4 quattros use the same tank

Changing it isn't as bad a job as a lot of people make out(aslong as you do it on a lift)
