does anyone know why there are two drain holes on the underside of the diff on the s6? they were both seized in solid and my pal's oxgen ran out so couldn't apply heat to them.

'Gene' don't forget to clean off the relevant section of your petrol tank and smear it with heavy duty grease or even copper grease to prevent any rust issues on or near the seam. Spink knows where they rust.

that's the one my pal went for but both were seized in good style.

would the diff be separated into two different chambers??

This, take them both out. There's 2 in the gearbox too

Oh, and take the filler plug out first, just in case!

No sorry Craig, I don't but did want to say thanks for posting threads and photos on what might appear at first glance mundane / boring threads on the maintenance of your UrS6, as it serves to assit others, who even though they don't realise it right now, this thread and other 'mundane' threads will take on a much bigger significance for them when they are faced with a similar issue / job on their own I5 S car.

Sorry about that off topic spiel, and now back on topic.

it's true! drain plugs are about as dull a subject as you can get, unless of course it's on your own car!

does anyone know where i can get these two drain plugs from? mechanic pal says that they are on back order from audi and can't tell him when they'll arriive . .

Do you have the part numbers or size of the plugs? I might have some left over.
