    Quick question. Will the camshafts on these inevitably disintegrate, similar to C4 quattro fuel tanks?

    Depends what year,apparently around 2004 they started making them from some kind of metallic substance instead of lard

        I had an AKE, which I sold witk 240000km on it without signs of problems, but plenty reports of people having to replace the cams at 150000km

          Lot of high miles car in europe and uk 309k plus without a problem with cams
          Its how its been looked after
          But i think lot if experts blame it on long interval service and wrong oil used for servicing
