  • Cambelt change/ crank bolt torque..

Hello, so i am most of the way through a cambelt/water pump etc service on on my AAN S4. I do not have a 3/4 inch torque wrench but have got a 3/4 inch strong arm bar and 27mm socket. I have seen a couple of posts on here in the past regarding torquing the crank bolt to a, 150nm then another 180 degrees as per a audi recommendation also 200nm then another 180 degrees. I ask because i have a torque wrench that goes to 200nm but not beyond. Can anyone clarify which would be the better option?

    thanks in advance Kevin

I always suggest using your body weight. For me it’s easy, 450nm can be generated by applying 75kg (my weight) to the end of a 600mm breaker bar

Lubricate the threads to apply proper torque to the fastener

Thanks for that, I was wondering about the lube i wasn't going to use any thread locker. I guess a smear of grease or engine oil will suffice. I will have to put on 5kg and proceed!

            200Nm + 180degrees. Never got past 150deg and I'm heavier than Error
