My ECU is an unopened 4A0 907 551 C and i want a bit more umph in th car, i have got hold of a chipped 4A0 907 551 AA ECU, but will it work? I hav not bought it yet, and probobly wont if it doesent work... He lives 300km from me so 8m not going to be able to try it first. What’s the difference? Any help appreciated, i tried searcing, but couldnt find anything.
In theory it will work but you will not have the immobolizer function. Can't remember if the immo light flashes or stays on!
So assuming the ecu is mapped for your current inj/turbo etc (stock?) then it will work as the AA is an unimmobolized ecu. BUT it is the code in the chip that determines things so to be safe it would be useful to have confirmation of the chip software/vendor through VCDS/Vagcom.
If you can confirm the ecu has been used in an S4 rather than an a S6 that would suggest its an unimmo ecu.

Thanks guys. So i guess it should work, my immo wont work and I would have either a blinkning immo light or it will be lit up all the time? I know the ecu comes from an S4. My car is completly stock, and the software in his ecu is revo 303. These chipsets were sold everywere over here before, but nowadays it seems like any chipset is hard to come by over here, which is a bit odd as anyone that has a non standard old Audi here runs strand alone ecus.
You need to be sure that the Ecu and SW is suitable for you. I seem to recall that the SMS 303 used a different turbo for example. Not sure if they used stock injectors or increased the fuel pressure. The convention seems to be that the limit for stock components is in the 280 BHP range.
So unless you duplicate the original set up, you will not get the same result. You need to do your homework!
This is the Revo 303 turbo which from the pic is K26 based ( i believe it was all K26!) rather than K24 stock.
So thats the point I am trying to illustrate. You wil not get the same results without the corresponding hardware changes. Whether it will be better than stock up to a certain point is questionable. The ideal solution is a matched conversion.
