Audi s6 plus

Hi guys! I just bought an s6 plus 4.2l v8
the car runs fine but, 2 questions.
when i rev it beyond 5k/rpm it hits like a turbo boost untill rpm limiter.
You can hear it openup the intake sound increases, how come it doesent hapend sooner? Its like driving a really laggy 2.2aan engine.

Second question. Anyone have any ideas why the cruisecontrol isnt working? The fuse is ok.

Re cruise control, what year is it? I "think" that's usually built in to the standard ECU so the only problem is usually a stuck/dirty switch on the stalk. Vigorous exercising of the switches and spraying with contact cleaner may get them working (did on my S8). You can also check whether they're working by monitoring with VCDS if you have it.
