Fuel tank

The fuel tank on my 1993 s4 saloon is leaking. I have a 1996 s6 saloon and estate for parts and was wondering if any of those tanks are a straight fit. Does anyone know the answer to this question.

All are metal tanks.

The s6 saloon should fit the s4 saloon. I had to change the one on my s4 avant. Pain of a job. Need to drop the diff and subframe from memory.

I'm pretty sure they are the same and yes metal. You will definitely have to drop the subframe and diff to gain access to the fuel tank.

really pain in the A** !
4 days ago I just put back this tank from my Audi 100S4 for parts, and it's really not an entertainment to do this, here's how it looks like (rusted but not leaking)


even to change the gas pump should be really boring
