    1995 Cabrio Questions

    Hello all,

A cheap cabrio came up for sale locally the other day, and I'm considering buying it to harvest some parts to use in my 1990 Cq 20v project.

I'm most interested in the potential for a short ratio steering rack (not a given, will be looking for the green part number plate -- any further suggestions to determine are appreciated), the window regulators, front fenders, cup holders, and possibly a dash and trim upgrade from B3 to B4.

The other main thing is this:

-- Is the Cabriolet rear floorpan the same as the B3 Cq?

Asking because I'd like to be able to harvest that for a good friend's Cq which needs the trunk's floorboards replaced.

Final question: what are the typical parts that are worth selling rather than sending for salvage? Maybe some USDM parts that you folks across the pond would covet?

The underbody of these cars all came from the factory with the differential mounting points if memory serves, quattro or not. Wasn't sure if there were big changes between B3 or B4, or the trunk was radically different between cab and coupe.

Really want to say they're the same but I've never actually checked out a cabrio before.

I bought a cabbie to break for parts a couple of years ago. Many parts are the same as b4 coupe but quite a few differences. Rear seats and door cards completely different, dash identical apart from a support brace, front wings, doors, bonnet, trims etc the same. Front bumper is same as S2 if its a V6. The parts are quite popular as David says above. Look out for Recaro front seats which are identical to Rs2 but have solid headrests and highly sought after.

B4 saloon/avant can be converted to quattro

Cabs require the floor out a cq, the cab is fwd so solid beam rear axle.

Canada never got the recaros unfortunately.

Yes, I will be interested in the Recaro seats if it has them.
I will also say the Ellipsoid headlights are a high value item if they are in good shape

HI PRY4SNO, I have owned a 1995 Cab for 5 years now and replaced, dismantled lots if things. Assuming your cab. Is a similar age, I can give you a list of the rarer items a Cab owner may seek from scrap cars etc. In general, you might assume to sell most of it. On that note do you have a good rear bumber?
