You're ahead of me so,
Any photos of the intended rims, sound very wide if you're lowering. May make the ride not so pleasant even though it will look good lowered?
Not sure where you'd get it done but a friend had the chrome blacked out on a car by a contractor who covered it with "black tape" professionally. Obviously looked way better than black tape? This would allow you to do it and still be able to change back. Just thinking about it, a contractor who wraps the paint-work on cars should be able to do it for you no bother?
Either way, please post more photos of the car when it gets de-chromed or new rims?
Kind regards.

Trying to find somewhere that does replca carbon or similar that has the blue weave as it was never available for the cab.
Wheels wll be 9 or 9.5" RH zw's 2 pece splts. Its also gong to get a bloody big wack with the lowering stick.
Still indecided about the chrome, somedays i lke t others i dont. Considering a carbon overlay or piano black to match the hardtopLeave a comment:

Fantastic as is,
Big respect re the dyeing - looks lovely.
Food for thought, consider carbon trim, 17" or 18" Avus rims and also blacking out the chrome?
Enjoy the traction and the roof down 5 cylinder noise.

Specialist wood, leather and fabric repair and restoration products including leather cleaners and conditioners, leather dye and leather restoration, wood stain beeswax polish and wood oils.
Thats the company i used. Theyre very very helpful and the kits come with absolutely everything you need. Id suggest you use their colour match service and get the adaptor to allow you to use the air brush with a compressor as opposed to the propellent cylinders they supply in the kitLeave a comment:

I'm even more impressed if you've dyed them - they look as good as new. What products did you use - was it difficult to do?
Unlike you I've not made much progress, in fact the bumper has just moved out of your garage into mine ! I keep looking out for some indicators and fogs to suit it at a reasonable price. I haven't even given much thought as to how the grills can be attached, never mind the brackets to mount it. I'll have to get all that sorted then have it painted so it could be a couple of years before it gets anywhere near the car !!

Nope not retrimmed. I redyed them along with the rest of the interior. They were dark navy blue when you saw them. How are you getting on with the bumper?Leave a comment:

Have you had the seats retrimmed - I thought they were black when I saw them in the back of the van up't north. It all works really well in there !!Leave a comment:

To be honest no. The porker seats have a perfectly flat base to work with so gives you a blank canvas to work with. I chopped up a pair of 80 front seats and welded them to the porsche subframes so i didnt have to butcher anything on the car. Mine are ok but they can be vastly improved upon which is something ill look at over the winter.
Thanks for all the comments. Been out in it a fair bit now the interiors back in and its half decent weather and its absolutely brilliant fun. Really outs a smile on my face
