Help A4 convertible electric roof failure

My wife's a4 cabby's electric roof failed today. She put the roof down to cart a box to big to get through the door, and it wont go back up.
I haven't a clue what to check. So any help would be appreciated.

Pulling codes and checking actual readings with Vagcom/VCDS will be the best to start with. Haven't got my hands on A4 cabby, but from my experience with 80 cabby electric roofs, there's tons of microswitches and conditions that can cause roof to stop working.

Boot wiring is usual culprit for 80 cabs in my experience.
Many people blame things from the boot lock to the handbrake!
Can you manually close the roof?
      Is it electric or hydraulic?

Its electric ,and I have managed to close it ,but there are warning lights still flashing.
        Now the boot wont open.

Sounds like boot wiring fail-happens on most 80 cabs I buy.
You need to find the break in wiring and repair
Of course you need to get the boot open first
On the 80 if you and the ski hatch bag out you can use long extension bars and
undo the boot lock from the boot lid
Not sure if can be done on a4 though

The wiring in the left hand side wiring bellows will be damaged as blue Quattro has said.
