  • Please help B8 headlight level sensor wiring

    Hi all,

    2009 B8 2.0TDI Avant

Since changing the timing/Aux belts a few weeks ago I have had a fault for the headlight leveling.

I presumed initially it was from.starting the car up without the headlights fitted to the car but after doing a little bit of digging, the car does not have a level sensor fitted to the front lower suspension arm.... There is however a rear sensor.

So, I presumed that the front sensor must have failed in the past and the connector had been bypassed with a resistor or something and I had disturbed it when I have the bumper/front end off.

Anyhow, I bought a sensor presuming that I will simply fit/plug in and it will be an easy job!

Anyhow, after getting into the job, I can see where the sensor fits/locates.... But there is absolutely no sign of the wiring!!! None, zero!!

I have removed the arch liner and under tray but cannot fathom where the connector is.

Does anyone have any idea of how the wiring loom runs for this sensor pretty please???

At the moment there is no evidence that the car ever had one!

    Many thanks in advance!!!

So, as it turns out, the car only has a sensor on the rear.

It just needed resetting with VCDS.

The moral of the story is to not run the car with no headlights fitted
