Thought it was about time we joined in with this detailing phenomenon so we got down to work on the diesels this weekend.
Here are the beginning pics of what we were up against:
As you can see mine was a tad pink and Ben's was covered in dirt as usual.
We started off with the tried and tested two bucket method. We couldn't work out why you would need two buckets if you've only got one car to wash though
Once clean the scale of the work ahead was unveiled.
My paintwork was flat as a fart (as can be seen below):
It was obvious some serious care was needed so I began by checking the paint depth. I haven't got the proper kit but luckily I have a big stone chip and some vernier calipers which worked out just fine.
Time to break out the PORTAble CABLE operated polisher and a big bottle of Tcut. While at it I noticed one of my headlamp lenses had a high spot so taking inspiration from that vauxhall bloke I gave it a quick once over.
Once Tcutting was complete it was time for the Gold Class. As you can see the shine is much better and no more pink:
