  • What's the best tyre shine then?

I have been trying to find the best tyre shine for ages and have tried the following:

Turtle Wax Extreme Tyre Gel: Excellent shine, not completely black, not that wet look and reasonably long lasting

Back to black: easy to apply, not that wet look not very long lasting

Car plan Black shine: Is actually black, not very wet look and not sure about how long it lasts as I've only just started using it.

Autoglym Plastic / rubber protectant: leave green slime on tyres so am sticking to using it on the bumpers....

Anyone got any really good suggestions for the best looking tyres and does anyone know what the dealers use for that really black shiny look????

    Cheers,

    Steve

The dealers use a n undersealpaint stuff that goes brown after a month!.

I have used good old black boot polish, cheap, easy to buy and apply.

I don't think you are a sad polisher Steve. I heard you were an old buffer tho' :mischeif:

Having tried every one on the market
with varied results i have been using
a product from Autosmart called Highstyle.
Also aproduct from Carlac called cotour tyre
dressing ,these are wot we use in the trade.
they are solvent based thus waterproof, they
cost about £20 for 5ltr which isnt bad as you
will be paying £5 for 1\2 ltr .ps i own a valeting company.
The kind of tyre wall makes a huge impact on finnish
and they should be dry. Hope this helps your quest for
          bling tyres

            Dear All,

I can't be asked will all of that 'tyre shine' nonsence. I simply buy a new set of tyres every week.
This way, they always look new, have a lovley shine, & I am not wasteing my wifes hard earned cash on 'Tyre Shine'.

I use the Meguiars Endurance High Gloss Tyre Protection Gel. It comes as a pourable liquid with an applicator pad rather than a spray, which I have found is the best way to apply.
Spray tends to go allover the wheels, which then attracts the dirt and brake dust even more.
The Mequiars stuff lasts longer than anything else I've tried, oh, and it smells just like all the other Mequiars stuff, I have to resist the urge to take a swig
