  • RS2+ quattro saloon conversion

Hi guys,i've decided to test the water a little with selling my long term project.
I've said it time and time again i'm going to move her on to a new home and end up keeping her and spending a load more money! (we all know the feeling i'm sure),however after seven years of ownership and various setups i think it may be time to move on to other things, mainly the property ladder.

So the car...it was originally a fwd tdi (aka sooty for the more seasoned members on here) but has been converted to quattro using a full v6 avant donor car.
Engine wise it's an aby lump with a full RS2 setup plus a few more goodies which i'll list below.

    Engine/performance:

Aby engine, fully serviced with belt, tensioner, hall sender, oil, filter, plugs, tfsi coils, and billet bottom pulley.
    RS2 rep exhaust manifold,stock wastegate,rebuilt RS2 turbo
full wagner intercooler,x member and reverse intake
    370cc injectors
044 fuel pump, full -6an braided fuel lines, new bosch fuel filter
GTM ally rad&12" spal fan, roose coolant hoses, upgraded oil cooler and an10 lines
    3" stainless steel downpipe
v banded 200cpi cat and decat pipe
Jetex center section to a 3" straight pipe at the rear.
SRE clutch,7a flywheel and coolerworx shortshift.
Ecu master classic ecu, brand new engine wiring loom.
2X wideband sensors for ecu and AEM UEGO.

    Suspension/brakes/steering:

    AK motorsport engine mounts
    AK polybushes all round
    solid subframe mounts
    New lowering springs
    New front outer cv boots
    New track rod ends
New brake lines, abs delete, rear bias valve.
    Astra electric pas pump
New discs and pads all round
    Dual stage vac booster conversion
A6 320mm front rotors and TTmk1 calipers up front.
Gunmetal 16" avus wheels+1 vgc in silver as a spare
15mm spacers on the front+5 stud hubs
5 stud pcd adaptors on the rear

    Interior/exterior:
    mk4 golf seats
3 spoke wheel on spaced hub
stack oil pressure and coolant temp gauges
    aem uego
    battery isolator switch
ace well digi dash (needs fully calibrating)
    Very solid shell,undersealed twice.
Battery relocated to where the wheel well would be.
Rear arches rolled out (pcd adaptors widen track by about 50mm)
    Painted porsche guards red
Gloss black roof and gloss black boot spoiler (genuine ally one)

    Included extras:
New phormula det cans and amplifier.
Rebuilt aby block consisting of scat rods, stock pistons, new rings, glyco main bearings and thrust washers,12.9 main bolts, audi big end bearings.
sump gaskets, oil pump seals etc, billet bottom pulley.
Box of mounts,rs2 waterpump, rebuilt pas pump,a load of stock injectors.
Set of new 750cc injectors with flow chart.
High grade mild steel tube mani from a group buy yonks back-t3 turbo flange, stock gate flange
A load of odds and ends i've accumulated over the years.

Car is mot'd until june next year,it flew through it's last mot with the guys at the garage giving high praise for the car.
The young lad there thought it was a 60K mile car even though the shell has covered 270K.
It will need to go on a dyno for a final tune,it's currently running a street tune on safe timing and afrs with 1.4 bar boost,it's quick now but will be even better after a dyno session.

    A few niggles to sort:
cold starting can take a bit of effort
The water pump bearing is noisy at idle although it's a new pump,i was going to fit the rs2 one but it needs the correct timing belt to go with it.
The paint is fresh but not show standard, theres a few fish eyes and blemishes.
Worth mentioning the wheel well was removed to fit a rear mount turbo setup when the v8 was in it,so thats been re plated and a new towing eye made.
Bumpers need bracketing as theres some movement on the outer edges, also wings/bonnet need some tweaking for the panel gaps.
The driver side headlight trim clip has broken.
The engine isn't the cleanest after x amount of years of oil and grime,my intention was to fit the forged bottom end so it never worried me.
The front pulley has the usual wobble which will need adressing at some point.
The pedal clevis needs adjusting as the brake pedal is low (didn't fancy pulling the dual stage booster back out the day before mot!)
Theres a slight knock from the steering u/j
A good alignment would not go a miss.
    Theres no glove box.

No doubt there's things i've missed, you loose track over the years.
The long and the short of it is that it's a good car with all the right parts,ok it's no show queen having been built in a home garage but it's certainly no shed either, everything it's needed has been done and there's a small fortune in parts alone.

To start the ball rolling with a price £9.5kono
I'm flexible for viewings, also have service pit to have a look underneath.
No part ex,i'm not splitting parts either,it's the full shebang or nothing.
Will get some pics up asap.
    Cheers,Adam.

I estimate around the 320-340 mark currently
Its on a par with my friends E46 M3.
Boost pressure is 1.4bar,it could use some more timing in the map aswell.
It would be better to get it dialled in on a dyno

Still here, sorted a few bits out:
                          -Repaired the headlight trim
                          -Adjusted the pedal clevis
-fitted new five-o motorsport injectors (750cc)
-fitted a new turbosmart compgate (40mm)
-boost is now set to 1.7bar

Nobody fancy a project for the new year?
