  • Audi S2 Quattro Coupe - 2.2L 20v Turbo - 1991 - Restoration Project

Unfortunately I’ve had to make a very tough decision which I’m sure I’ll regret in the future, but due to a major change of circumstances I’m having to let go of my 1991 Audi S2 Coupe (Restoration Project).

I purchased this vehicle around 5-6 years ago from a local enthusiast/trader with the intentions of restoring it to former glory.

Initially when I purchased the vehicle, the engine was fitted however head was off and in the boot with an N.J Parfitts tag on it(NJ Parfitts logo was on plates so seemed to be a supplying dealer)

Assuming there was clearly a problem/dispute in the past regarding engine/head I spoke to a local Audi specialist who said they would rebuild it for me but didn’t have floor space for the vehicle so they came over removed the engine and took that to start.

Months passed and than it starting getting to years passing without contact/updates from them so I went in and they were going through major changes in the workshop and not even started.

Frustrated with the garage I decided to take engine back and find another garage/mechanic to restore with...

We than went through the Covid Pandemic and the project got put on the back burner, coming out of the Pandemic like many other people circumstances have changed and I’ve had to make some life changes.

One of these changes is deciding I do not have the time/effort/resources/facilities required to bring this vehicle back to life at the moment. Sad I know, but it’s reality?‍♂️

The vehicle has only covered 130k miles and comes with original book pack/wallet, owners manual, service book etc. Once restored it will definately be a great example.

As it stands the engine, gearbox, turbo, exhausts, rads, pipes etc (all parts removed to remove engine) are in the boot - engine will need rebuild and other parts refurbished/replaced.

Windscreen is cracked and will need replacing, roof lining is sagging and door trims are peeling, interior will need a good clean/wash as parked for years.

The rest of it all depends upon what level of resto the new owner wishes to take it to, she certainly deserves the love and care and will reward whoever decides to take it on.

I’ve seen similar complete vehicles with higher miles sell between £20-30k and currently a 96 model with similar miles but no running gear just the shell for £10k on car & classic.

How many left are showing 91 licensed and 298 sorn - 389 total left in UK making her quite a rare bird with values steadily on the rise on the back of the RS2 values sailing out of reach these are the next best affordable thing.

The vehicle is located in Slough if anybody would like to look at it.

    £10k
