The new owner picked this up from me thismorning. Nice bloke and he is well chuffed.
Worth every penny - it is a cracking car in mint condition! Hope you enjoy it mate!
Thing is, there are no more of these cars so nice ones will begin to fetch a premium if the right people are watching. Never know maybe they will follow the trend of the 80's performance cars - just look at E30 M3's, cosworths, ur quattro's, lancia delta's etc
i thought spink sold his?!
Also agree i never understood why the urS4/6 fetch so less in comparison to their bretherin. Every bit as good, for a utilitarian car imho its better. Mine is about to turn 194k this week and still going, would i buy another low miler if it was right for me? Who knows, but i wouldnt discount it over a newer car.
I had 2 identical '97 noggy avants at the same time, sold one back in january but still have the other one, lovely car.In no rush to sell but may part with it for the right money, its one car i would be upset to see go
I was fortunate enough to pick mine up for £2.5k as a runout model with 6 speed. Given it a lot of grief and has just hit 196k on the clock with only minor rusting on the front drivers arch. Bought it mint at just under 160k with full dealer service history and original bill of sale and handover documents. Still cant believe how much of a bargain I had back then only because the owner didn't know what he was selling, also the mfa read 9mpg when I test drove it as he had only had it for 2mnths I suspected this was the reason for the sale. Got it home changed the Dump Valve and instantly saw 27+mpg

I kinda wish mine was one of the late ones, love the late seats especially! Mine's a '95 in the usual dark green!!! I bought mine with a fault (the one i'm still chasing) for a total steel which is one reason i carry on trying to put it right!
On the late car note, does anyone know of a late tailgate WITH the spoiler attached?? I could do with one before i have the car re-painted over winter

Mines an auto and paid less than that, but like all things in life if you buy cheap it's for good reason. I've put a lot into it to refresh it including getting the bonnet & the bumper resprayed. I think the same happens with all cars as they age. The best cars will fetch a premium and the others will be sold for pretty humble prices. No matter these barges are out there now at 10-15% of the original price tag, which suits me.
I'm going to give prj's ecu & tcu chips a go in the near future too.
EDIT: I hope the owner of this car gets the camera out and posts up a few pics of the new motor. she's a beauty

Yeh sometimes thats true, as mine was faulty! But also being in the right place, right time helps, i bought mine off my physio for less than half that figure! :mischeif:
And as to the paint, yeh it all gets old, mine has a few different shades on it. That coupled with the odd scratch made my mind up the have the whole car painted this year.
I follow this market fairly closely and these cars used to come up for sale more or less every month, but over the last 12 months there have been far fewer of them available.
This may be just a blip, or it may mean that the numbers have dwindled to the point where owners of the 'good ones' are all hanging on to them. I'd certainly be interested in a run-out manual, low mileage model if one came up - and i've already got a 1995 urS6 Avant!
this shed was on 4salvage auction site last week, was going to bid as i need a pair of cats to get mine through test, and interior was looking better that mine. Was listed as no damage but main dealer p/ex ...starts/drives... bet the bloke was gutted when he realised to go backwards you are pushing!! lol
