Your old avant was on my doorstep and it was that car that sparked my interest in an S2, tbh I've almost given up on an S2 now and I'm looking at B6 1.8T avant quattro's as well, a pale imitation but more practical for everyday use probably. I agree it's worth travelling if you get the car you want but there's always the chance of driving for hours and being disapointed.
Dest is correct. You need to be prepared to travel to view potential cars, you could be waiting a long time for a good one to pop up on your doorstep.
I have three S2 Avants, my latest, the third one is a silver one, great colour, so can't buy this one, but to me from over here it looks very competitively priced and easily worth a visit. At this stage it is most likely the selling price is more flexible than before.
Don't think you're really that serious about getting one if you ask me? If you're worried about time or petrol, you've a rude awaking ahead of you when you buy one, IMHO.
I'm sure the above doesn't help as opposed to "HTH".
service history, pictures and general condition says its worth at the very least the £3k asked. Genuinely wished i had the money as would be mighty tempted.
Hope you got at least 3k for it - they are a lot of car for relatively small money. Wish I had spare funds to pickup a tidy one or maybe one that needs a little tlc. Someday maybe. Hope the sale completes and you are in a position to buy another one sooner than later.
