well I know we live in a money dominated world, but, when I have been told repeatedly that I had first look, booked train and plane tickets and have messages saying 'see you tomorrow' and that he will meet me at airport etc...only to be told (only half hour or so after another call telling me 'don't worry you have got first look' ) that someone is dangling more cash and I am letting him look, but,if he dont want it you can still come...that to me is just wrong on every level. Completely disalusioned with it all now....oh,talking about 900-1000 mile trip here as well as a completely wasted day today sorting out bank, insurance, flights, staff to cover me at my business etc....
oh,not even heard if other party bought it, still, there you go.
If the other party reads this then they are in a good position as the competition is now extremely hacked off!
Can't say I blame you,
I flew to Aberdeen to pick up my S6, luckily chap was good, paid the parking ticket to get me out of the airport carpark and even left 1/3 of a tank in it which with a 75 litre fuel tank was certainly a reasonable amount of fuel...
Loved the drive back all 600 odd miles, only one big stop and a couple of short ones...
Comes down to peoples values. I wouldn't want that done to me so you would think you wouldn't do it ssomeone else.
Mate, nail on the head....I was happy at asking price,so was he, he even found me a good deal on flight up...I guess integrity is a word some people cannot understand.
Cannot believe he was so 'with me' on it then dropped me like a stone after he knew only to well I had done everything to get there quickly, even offered a deposit!
If I had agreed to sell at the price I put on ad then I would honour that, would you?
just heard from him.....sold it. I did speak to soon re: a pleasure talking to an enthusiast.Only a car, but I hate being treated with contempt. No place for it.
Suppose the vendor is happy with the outcome. I hope the new owner is pleased to have acted a prick and enjoys the car, as much has he had to do to persuade the vendor to act equally the prick and "renege" or " welch" on a deal.
It would have only been fair of the vendor to reply to any further enquiries once words were spoken, and tickets booked, to say - sorry car sold.
Wonder how the vendor would feel after he has sold up, packed belongings and off to the other side of the world, only for the employer to say we have found another suitable candidate for less salary....?
Peace and karma to all

With that mileage and with all the spares etc thrown in the price seems very low which suggests to me that the car probably has some issues, I can speak from experience of putting many right over the last few years.
Also, don't forget this is a Scotsman selling a car and that rang alarm bells with me in relation to the price too, my Grandmother was Scottish and was as tight as a knat's chuff, you want an RS2 that has been pampered not scrimped on.
For all other Scotsman on here that is very much tongue in cheek to make Notorius feel better!
Put it behind you and move onto the next, if what you say is true the guy sounds like a tool so you'd better off not lining his pockets anyhow, he should refund you for your travel if he was a decent guy.
Thanks ?? for wasting my time.Nothin more to say on the matter.
I would be happy if this thread was locked, dont want things getting out of hand.
OP,enjoy your new life, counting your money.i'm sure you will sleep well.
Oh,please do yourself a favour and don't contact me again.
This is the problem with S2/RS2'S I was offered more (£600.00) than my asking price which the buyer paid a deposit on. now Kingfishers2 EX pearl white ABY
was it tempting- yes.
did i give in to greed- no.
I made sure the buyer was 100% about the car and advised him what deal was on the table for me and not to **** me around at the end of the day as I was holding the car for 1 month for him.
I was bought up to know that a mans word is his bond....
Im not taking sides and wish all a good outcome, you got your refund afterall, sometimes its just not meant to be.
