    Audi S2 Coupe 1990 Green - £4000

It's that time I need to turn my car into a rock attached to some metal to keep my little lady happy. So here goes:

    Audi S2 Coupe 1990 (H Reg)
Green - Paint in good condition, very liitle rust for age.
Two sets of wheels (Refurbed set that have never been used).
    New main radiator.
    New battery.
New front wishbones as old bushes were shot.
    New front bottom ball joints.
Most of the electric things still work.

This car was supposed to be my project. For the last two years or so it has been in my garage needing some TLC. To make it run it needed the old leaky rad changing and the front bushes replacing. Both have now been done. I've still to put new tyres on it and get it MOT'd. It should be ready for a road test at the end of April.

I also have a full set of Samco hoses in black for it (boost and water) which have not been fitted. As above, there are two sets of wheels - one set is the original wheels that are a bit untidy but good for the winter or track; the other set look brand new.

I know that the price may look a little high but here's why I thought it might be worth it (waits for all the posts to correct my thinking ) It's a tidy car that has never been modified. It's as original as I think you can get. If you are after something to heavily modify then where better to start. If you are after a rare car that is original in spec try finding another for sale - there will not be many.

Right then... let the corrections, posts and hopefully offers commence

(More pictures on request by PM including and email address. I'm away a lot so forgive me if you do not get a quick reply - I will do my best to answer ASAP)

Suprised that no one has come back on this post - if only to rubbish the asking price ;-)

Hi, you say that you're after some feedback, so, at the risk of flaunting the rules, here goes -
      • Many on the forum have strong ideas of what various cars are worth and unfortunately for you, 3Bs are generally not at the top of the wanted list and top out at about £3k for a standard car.
      • You'd really help your cause if you put up some pictures of the car all shiney and well-loved looking, rather than just a picture of a wheel and a blurry picture taken in poor light...
      • TBH, £4k for a 3B is very, very strong money and so you'll have to do a lot to justify it and TBH, saying that it's standard and tidy doesn't really explain why it's £4k and not £2.5k-£3k, like most 3Bs. Many on here are aware of the downfalls of a standard car and so are after cars with the weak points sorted out.
      • It really would have to be immaculate, have prisitine bodywork, loads and loads of history including receipts for everything, have had some proper restoration of the chassis bushes, shocks, brakes etc. etc. and service documents galore to justify the price you're asking. If it's not been touched, then most new owners will be adding up the cost of new suspension, refurbished brakes and a host of other, well know S2 weak areas and finding that the sums are difficult to justify.
      • If you want 150% of what a car is worth then you'll really have to put the effort in and sell the car both in terms of picutres and explanation of why the price is justified.
Either you're underselling the car or you're not asking a realistic price... either way, good luck with the sale.
      Cheers'en, AndyC

Rusty, Your feedback was what I've been after. Given the type of car that the S2 is there's not much out there to really help assist in pricing one up. I took a stab at what I wanted but never expected to get it. Gives others some offer room Thanks for the feedback.
