S2 Coupe on Pistonheads - Anyone know it?

    http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/2633459.htm

This looks like a great unmodified example, anyone on the forum aware of its history/current owner? If it's still up for sale in a few weeks/months when I may have some money to spend I might look at buying it - I can't not have 230bhp and permanent four wheel drive in my life!

Saw it on pistonheads a while back too but obviously didn't sell....

Is it a late 3B or an early ABY example? (Can't tell from the photos)

If its 230bhp then its an ABY and I don't think 3B's had the thingy in the upper b post for the remote locking did they?

Just ask if it's 5 or 6 speed...

Make me laugh that it's 'totally standard' but has different wheels.

Is it possibly an early ABY? It still has the orange indicator lenses so maybe it had those hideous five spoke wheels when it was new. I can't remember what came first - the ABY engine and the 6 speed box or the Avus wheels?

There were crossover cars with the non-elipsoids and 5 spokes but with ABY and 6 speeds. Wheels came later.

                I like the 3B polished 5 spokes.

Prefer the original Avus personally, but a dark S2 coupe with the 5-spokers sometimes looks ok. Next gen Avus alloys though don't look quite right on an S2, especially when it's the massive ones off an S8. That being said I quite like the look of these wheels on that car....

Don't let Ken hear you say that

Both 5 and 6 spoke Avi are available at very sensible money with good tyres, even refurbished with nearly new tyres, they're rarely more than £400

exact opposite, probably the best steering wheel you will ever use ask:

                          martinjs
                          spink
                          skull
                          jamo

I've had around 10 of them now.

The bloke selling it has sent me some more pics. It has a wood rimmed steering wheel and matching gear nob.
Wheels are indeed 17" but he has the originals for another £150.
It has air con and sun roof and history going back 8 years.
He has 2 keys and all user manuals.

Looks pretty good, justs needs seats cleaning.
