My 100 on ebay:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...STRK:MESELX:IT
Right, after much deliberation and thought, I have decided to sell my 1990 G reg Audi 100 avant quattro and LOADS of spares.
I am an "Audi enthusiast" and currently own:
Audi 80 B2 Sport (daily driver - also on ebay soon........)
Audi 80 B2 Sport (for spares)
Audi 80 CL
Audi 100 2.3 auto.
Audi 80 TDI avant.
It has been a lovely car to drive (I did approx 40k commuting in it over 2 years), now I have a B4 Audi 80 TDI to commute in.
149k miles. MoT ran out in April 2010 and it has been on my drive ever since. Even though it has had 6 owners, 3 of them were when the previous owner to me sold it to his mate for £1, then bought it back again).
Comes with loads of spares (bushes, top mounts and lots of other brand new spares and fixings were approx £300 on their own). I have also printed out diagrams of the suspension, and marked up the bags of bushes and bolts with where they go.
all rear bushes and new bolts
New front track control arms and new bolts
New front ARB bushes and new bolts
New track rod ends
New ball joints
spare 100 quattro Torsen gearbox - not in the car at the minute - will need two people (not me - bad back) to lift it in
Spare front calipers and discs (hardly used and matching).
Spare rear diff
Spare prop shaft
Spare front and rear struts fitted with Weitec lowering springs and shocks (think they are probably 30mm but can't confirm.
New top mounts front and rear and bolts
New bump stops
Spare rear discs
Spare rear exhaust box
Spare bomb
spare hydraulic PAS pump
Front and rear bumpers (with a towbar, and front fog lights)
Headlights and tail lights.
Bad points:
High idle - either isv or isv relay, or sticking throttle body - it idled fine until November 2010.
No mot or tax
Rear brake calipers don't return fully (has had new calipers in 2008 - common VAG problem).
Slight dent on rear tailgate (see pic)
Slight “scrape” on front near side wing (see pic).
Slight surface rust (although it is galvanised) on OSR door (see pic) - only on the surface.
Rear exhaust box has lost its mounting tabs - spare rear box included.
Left rear electric window doesn't work (and never has on any of the three Audi 100s I have had!!!).
Good points:
Very straight body.
Good service history.
Fully galvanised.
All tyres (Vredestein Sportrac2) are 2.0mm all round (matched set).
Having 4 kids means I won't get round to sorting it out. I wanted to put a 2.5 TDI engine in it (or a 20 valve 5 pot turbo...mmmmmmmmmm), but I don't have the time to sort.
You could buy it, and if you have the time, all the bits are there to sort it out (it took me 6 months to find all the bushes from various sources)
Or you could break it for spares, and sell all the bits and get more than your money back.
e.g. alloys = £100
gearbox = £100
Springs and shocks = £100
Engine = £100
Radiator = £20
Bushes (one pair is the RS2 polybush which cost about £40)
Front track control arms = £15 each
etc etc......
Very rare car, VERY capable in the snow. Especially when fitted with winter tyres. Manual diff lock, which automatically disengages at 15MPH.
ABS, which is switchable (to allow you to build up a wedge of snow, and is a feature missing on newer cars).
Better traction than the later A6 cars with auto difflocks, as this gives you some control.
Car is located in Calne, Wiltshire, 21 miles from Bath or 14 miles from Swindon.
Viewing is welcome, NO test drives (no MoT or tax, and not insured) but can be seen running with the high idle. Will need to be trailered away.
I would prefer it went to an enthusiast with the time and ability to get it back on the road, and it will be a sad day when it goes.
