A sad day for me, but needs must and I've got to face reality.
End of a really enjoyable era.
Sadly, gone are the days of messing around with cars on a weekend to keep them in tip top condition.
She's getting used less and less and having lost my garage space it's doing her no good just sitting around in the elements.
I'm the third owner, having bought her in April 2004 off a forum member who had her from only 18 months old.
Well cared for, no expense spared in the upkeep of this car. Whatever needed doing was done. I've got a MASSIVE history file with literally hundreds of receipts for servicing and general repair work. I've even kept receipts for items as small as bulbs. The service book is fully stamped and up to date, from new until 2004 it's all Audi serviced, from purchase until now it's been worked on by my very trusted local specialists who can be contacted if you wish.
Last year I had the following done;
Headgasket replaced,
Head skimmed,
New valve guides and stem seals,
New timing chain,
New timing belt,
Waterpump and all the other bits associated with a belt change,
Thermostat,
Two hard to get to small hoses under water manifold,
MFTS,
Both knock sensors,
New plugs (F5DP0R's)
Pollen filter,
N75 replaced,
New G12++
Aux rad replaced for a spare in better condition, although old wasn't leaking,
Top hose on rad (I'll also throw in a brand new SFS replacement I never fitted)
NSR caliper and a pair of discs and pads.
Pair of new 314mm discs and textar porsche pads up front.
The car was tucked up over winter, after getting her out in the spring, she had;
An oil and filter change (Fumoto drain valve fitted before I forget),
An all round general service,
OSR caliper replaced,
Thermostat again replaced (must have been a dodgy OEM new the year before)
New G12++
K&N cleaned and "lightly" oiled (over seven years with no dead MAF's thanks very much)
Fresh MOT and 12 months tax in April.
Masses of work obviously done over the years including all coilpacks replaced with OEM new, both POS's etc etc.
Above is just the recent load I can can remember. My history file will keep you busy reading for a good few hours.
A general spec next, I'll more than likely have forgotten bits and pieces, so will add when I remember.
1995 ABY engined, six speed manual (230hp standard),
176k,
Ecru cream leather, Lifestyle colour Byzanz (metallic purple)
Aircon,
1.5 Bar highboost MRC generic remap chips (approx 280 - 285hp) NOT currently fitted but I will throw these in with the sale,
RS2 front intercooler,
Milltek Hyperboost recirc valve,
Milltek Cat back SS system,
Cats gutted,
Koni shocks front and rear running on standard springs,
Powerflex rear diff mount,
Porsche 996 c2 front four pot monoblock calipers (Black),
Custom brackets, 314mm A8 discs, braided lines, standard pads,
RS2 front brake ducts,
18" S8 Avus alloys, 225/40/18 tyres (Kuhmo Ecsta Supra with over 8mm tread), 15mm spacers all round,
Grey faced boost gauge in custom vent plate (in Bar, red needle and illumination to match clocks)
Becker Grand Prix headunit with MP3 and Bluetooth,
Front and rear footwell lamps retrofitted,
RS2 interior door pulls (black)
Illuminated interior door pulls,
Complete retrofit of the opening electric rear windows,
Genuine black optic front grille (OEM black surround, NOT painted),
6000K HID on dipped beam,
6000k HID on front fogs,
LED sidelights to match,
White front side repeaters,
Front and rear grab handle lights,
Rear ashtray illuminated,
Retrofit of the interior light switch on dash (switch on and all interior lights come on including footwell lights)
RS4 autodim rear view mirror (working),
Vagparts (RIP) aerowiper arms and blades kit
K&N airfilter,
R8 oil filler cap,
Glovebox handle illuminated,
Comfort lighting,
Glass tilt and slide pre-select sunroof,
Cup holders in centre tray (NLA)
Custom S2 logo mats,
Gloss black dial rings (similar to RS's dial rings).
OBD11 socket in passenger footwell,
12v power socket in passenger footwell.
Bad bits;
Mainly bodywork related this. Both front wings starting to show a small bit of bubbling in the common area where the bumper meets the wing.
NSR arch showing a small bit of bubbling on the thin arch leading edge,
OSR has a bit of bubbling above the black rubber trim in front of rear wheel arch.
I will get pictures of these in due course.
Also, heater matrix has gone "I think". Noticed a bit of condensation on inside of windscreen, although carpets completely dry. For the time being and to prevent a waterfall if it is gone, I've bypassed the heater matrix in the engine bay for now.
My selling price reflects these bad bits.
Private reg is NOT for sale and is in the process of being removed.
Price drop, £6000
Now £4995.
Contact me either through here, or on my mobile 07851166317 though please note! I work stupidly long and crazy shifts, so if I don't immediately reply, please be patient.

best colour and trim combo I've seen on a coupe.
Best of luck with the sale.
.
That would be nice. Sadly cars are cheap in the UK. great for buyers, not so great for sellers
