I don't think the MOT guys care, having swapped out broken clusters and had the milage apparently drop 50k, they just stick the odo reading into the computer.

All you have to do on an MOT is put the displayed mileage down, clocks could have been changed, tho on some peugeots, the mileage is stored in the ecu, so it remains the same. they could have clocked- who knows??
I often get older cars in with only 99,999 mile odometers that are reading 1200 miles , now is that 101200 or 201200 miles? Half the bmws & vauxhalls u cant see the mileage anyway!!
Ive had cars lose 20k between test & retest what can i do about it?
The only way to look at buying a car is with suspicion- especially a performance one- there are too many bodgers and make a fast buck merchants out there. You have to do your homework or you get bitten!
I see bodged up write offs most weeks, everything done just well enough to grt a pass,
then get phoned up a couple of months later by some irate guy cos his rear wheels fallen off, my names on the MOT cert, call up the car details find i advised on a loose rear wheel bearing & he tells me he didnt get a VT32 advisory sheet with the car so he thought there werent any!!
The new certificates are better in that repect as the advisories are printed on the pass cert.

If you go to http://motinfo.direct.gov.uk/interne...ry-Request.jsp type in the reg, V5 number or MOT test number you get the previous test details of the vehicle- then you can see any fails/advisories/mileage on there.
      BUYER BEWARE!!!

on this side of the chanel, B5 RS4 prices are guetting cheaper than RS2 !!!

this trend should continue to grow in the followong years i think, keep your RS2, it should be a good investment !
