You can have the car inpected so that it removes the Cat D marker and shows "inspected" marker on HPI searchs.

The 'Cat D' bit still shows on a search - The inspected bit appears on the V5. AFAIK. Once registered 'Cat' damage you cannot as such get that tag removed. I've been there with many a motor. And the inpections just verify the vehicle identity they have no interest in the damage/repairs. Its just to stop 'ringers' I think.

Thanks for the reply, hope it works out whatever you decide.this car is almost 17yrs since it was built, but still feel special everytime i jump in it for a little ride.
i spend many hours and thousands of pounds to get this car top nic and will break my heart if i have to go this route.
and i also know i will never get all the thousands i spend on her but atleast i can try and clause some back.
knowing that this is CAT D,for wiring damage) i've price it accordingly, and if i don't get buyer by spring, then i have no choice but to break it.
sometimes when you don't have any other option time and hassle don't matter.
