The time has come to sell my S2 Avant - 94 ABY - as my 80 Sport has become my daily drive with the RS2 for good days.
I've owned the S2 for over 5 years and it will be sad to see it go.
Good bits :
Has never not started - has been my daily drive for 5 years.
239k but still drives lovely.
MRC remap.
Longlife de-catted exhaust - has been passing MOT's for 4 years on a non-cat test - it can be done, I've been doing it.
Has gone straight the last 3 MOT's
18" wheels ready for a brake upgrade - never got round to doing.
x4 Pirelli P Zero's around 1,000 miles ago
White light Xenon's - Headlights AND Full Beam - full beam xenon's are awesome.
Kenwood 10 disc - CDT component speakers (front and rear)
Bad bits :
It had a coil pack conversion some years ago (MRC) but has never be happy - coils die too quickly. I've kept the original coils, cover and wiring but I did lose the two amplifiers. Just recently I bought a new set of 5 coil rubbers with the intention of returning the coils to their original spec, but haven't as it's now for sale. The amplifiers are readily available on eBay for around £50-70 and that's all you would need to put the coil system back to how it should be.
It has just started to overheat - not to the point of having to pull over and lift the bonnet, it's just started to have the temp gauge rise too quickly. There are NO nasties on the dip stick or oil cap. It hasn't been a major worry to me - I've still been using it as a daily, until last week when I got the 80.
There are some areas of rust - rear of the front wheel arches - at the bottom of the rear screen.
Spare bits :
Rear wash wipe (removed from the car)
Coil packs - less the two amplifiers (find on ebay)
x5 New coil rubber boot things.
If I remember that I've forgotten anything to make this a truthful sale, I'll update the words.
It is what it is - an S2 Avant for a grand.
