If that's over priced then there's one on Pistonheads for a few hundred less and 70,000 more miles that must be waaaaay over priced.

Apart from the one that was on Autotrader a few months ago that had 45,000 miles on the clock IIRC and was going for about 10k I've not seen any for sale with this sort of mileage.

Obviousley a well cherished example to end up in the hands of a dealer trading as 'Cars r Us, I already know what this S2 will be like, and i bet my S2 on it that it wont be worth nearly 5k,80k on the clock means nothing with these cars its down to personal ownership.

Overpriced if it's a 3B, still kinda pricey for an k plate even if it's an ABY

True, I think I just got a bit excited for a bit

Also agree with the fact that as it's at some dealer it can't be good news.

I always find spending extra on low milage is false economy. The amount of times i have heard of people buying low milage cars and then ending up with huge garage bills because lets face it theres plenty of things that let go between 50 and 100K.

My pore step dad bought an allroad with 50k on the clock, drove it for 30k and it cost him over 10k in parts and labour before he sold it. Thinking each time it came back from the garage now he would have to keep it as its just cost another couple of grand.

I have done almost 15k on my S8 now since i bought it last year and all i have had to do is change the CV boots. its now got 200k on the clock and still pulls like a train.

I think its all down to how a car was kept and maintained..

DON,T by this car.Somethings smells wrong as i asked about this motor over three years ago.The lad who worked there kept putting me off and so did the owner there was always some reason i couldn,t see it.Also were are the photo,s gone off the car as he did put some up.In one of the photos the car had a b3 wheel layed in the boot.Anyway if you want a nice s2 spend your cash with ken, his cars well known to most members. The milage is right its a lovely car.IMO.Good luck lynn.PS Ken is Le S2 A udi.And i think the one in wales is a aby.But don,t by it you, BE if you do.

Why does everyone try to put the value of our special cars down? I just dont understand it? S2s are rare car cars these days and me personally speaking i think they should be sitting double the money at the moment. If someone came and offered me £6k for mine id laugh at them. It baffles me as other rare cars are appreciating where S2s stay the same between £4-6k

Over here you are lucky if you find a NICE S2 at all for under 6-7k. The good ones cost around 10k.

This is the cheapest S2 in sweden at the moment http://www.blocket.se/jamtland/Audi_...5.htm?ca=5&w=3

and it has hada a rear end smash, both bumpers ar busted. That price works out at 3395 gbp.

I've personally found that with a used car it's complete luck of the draw. You can't know for sure how the previous owners have treated the car in its first 5 years/10years/15years, however old the car may be, so mileage gives you an indication of how much abuse it could have potentially been subjected to.

The most reliable car I owned was a Polo on 45k and even my current car - an Alfa 147 on 54k - has held up reasonably well and I happen to think mileage has a lot to do with it.

At the other end of the scale I bought a Golf GTI this summer from a nice chap who had taken great care of it over about 9 years of ownership and had loaaaaads of history (not the last word in reliability I know, but if you take great care and attention in keeping records of work carried out etc the car is likely to have been well cared for). Then two weeks after I bought it in the space of 36hrs the clutch pedal broke almost clean off, the gear selector broke leaving me with just 3rd and 4th and then the cambelt tensioner sheared off, bending all 20 valves and basically writing the car off.

That was on 125k and it's convinced me to stay well clear of high mileage cars from now on, so that explains my initial excitement yesterday afternoon! That being said it's not all down to mileage and this one will probably end up being a dog when there are pictures available.....

With the least possible offense meant to those above, it's my opinion that those scared of high milage cars either don't know much about cars or don't know how to spot a sh*tter.

When we're talking expensive turbo cars, I'd like a decent history, but in general you should only need to sit in and start a car to know/hear if it's a good'un.

Not to mention, there are people who think cars manufacured midweek are put together better?!

I.e a Friday cars going to have been
                              Rushed with weekend coming

A Monday car, everyone's still hungover lol

It's something I come across being a motor trader especially with the more older traders ones who have gone grey in the game!

Who knows.. Yea I agree with anthonyss2 S2's have been sitting at the 3-4k mark for a good few Years now.. Hopefully an appreciating classic or has met residual value
