  • Audi Coupe Project Car

I have now decided I want to sell my Audi project car, it been a hard decision and I may just end up selling it for parts as it has alot of good parts alone. I would prefer not to destroy all the work I put into the car though .

Started life as an Audi Coupe 2.6E and I have massively modified it. It has some more traditional type of modifications such as:

    • Koni Suspension (Shocks and springs lowered by about 30mm)
    • Poly bushes throughout and aluminium subframe bushes
    • 18 inch OZ Alloys
    • I also have the original wheels with very good tyres, two of which are winter tyres. They are my winter wheels.
    • Very high spec ICE system, includes Alpine 6*9 up front and 4inch pioneer TS’s at the read with a Alpine bass box in the boot and one of the best Alpine head units you can get IMO.
    • Brake servo conversion from Hydraulic assist to Vacuum assist.
    • Black diamond front disk and EBC yellow stuff pads all round.
    • S2 ellipsoid headlamps
    • Taxed until End of July
    • MOTed till Feb 2013.

And then we have the specialised stuff, I basically fitted an Audi A4 2.8 30v (Quad cam, VVT) engine with completely new wiring loom and a S2 custom dials with plasma illumination. The engine is controlled via Syvec’s ECU, one of the best ECU’s on the market. Here is the list:
    • Engine – 2.8 30 valve rebuilt heads 5000 miles ago.
    • Aluminium flywheel with S2 hybrid clutch
    • Syvec’s ECU with custom loom, running closed loop lamba and closed loop knock control.
    • AEM AFR stepper motor gauge.
    • Custom stainless steel exhaust with Sebring back box.
    • Apexi pod intake.
    • Cusco catch tank.
    • SARD fuel pressure regulator.
    • Bosch 044 fuel pump in tank.

It is putting out just over 200 hp ATM, my plans were always to install a PES G2 supercharger and with all the existing mods it would just need a remap and should give 300 hp.

I have many more pics on my project thread here:

    Bad bits:
    • The bodywork is pretty rough, it is a solid car with very little rust but the paintwork is rough. There are lots of areas were the paint has come off due to having panels off the car and laying around the Garage.
    • There is some rust around the wind screen and one rear arch, which is basically all the rust there is on the car.
    • The alloys have some curbing damage and it has some cheap tyres on the front.
    • Rear screen wiper need a new motor and doesn’t work.

If I can get £2500 I will be happy to let it go, considering that I could get over £1000 for the Syvec alone, then say £500 for the alloys, not to mention the engine, fuel system, headlamps etc...

Thanks, sad to see it go. I've had it for about 12 years now.

I'm not really sure of the code, I could take a look at the chassis plate. I assume it's on there.
It's raining at the mo, but I'll check in a bit.

Cheers, if you look in the boot it should be on a white label in there, ly** normally. Looks like emerald green.

Sorry Mate, I really can't find it. It's not on the chassis plate and I have a look around in the boot with no luck.

Has Ryan Griffiths (2 Bar tuning) mapped this?

I'm sure many on here are familiar with Syvecs (was Solaris) ECUs, but they're probably the best you can buy, even more capable than the Motec M800 with all the features unlocked.

They're big news in Nissan GTR (R35) TVR and Toyota Supra tuning.

You are absolutely correct, I also have a syvecs on my 600hp skyline.

Ryan has mapped it originally and then I changed quite alot of stuff, moved the trigger wheel. So I have done some of the mapping as well.

As you know this ecu alone will fetch well over £1000, then you have the wideband lambda, wideband knock sensor, map sensor, trigger wheel... Then list goes on.

It is likely I will break this car so if anyone is interested please let me know soon otherwise if you are interested in any of the bits once I break it.

Will be a shame as I have put a lot of work into this build, from custom engine mounts to making the complete engine wiring harness from scratch. But I will get more money from it by breaking it.

Id put this on pistonheads with all your mods listed and it will sell this a good car IMO far too good to break!!

Thanks, I have it on ebay at the mo but i'm gonna have a look at pistonheads now.

Problem is that I need to keep it on the road really to help the sale and I have another project that I want to start. I am really sad.

Really interesting project, be a shame to see it broken although I think you could offload the complete engine conversion for good money to another V6 owner and unfortunately fwd coupes are not very sought after. GLWS though

Side note, can we have some info on your R34 please?

Now thats an interesting thought, I think that all these mods would fit straight into a V6 quatro even the aluminium flywheel which cost me a small fortune from 044.

Now the Skyline is a different story

In short it is a UK spec R34 GTR V-Spec 1 of 3 in red and I have done many mods to it including a power upgrade to 600 hp and Nitron suspension etc... and it is a fun car on the track . I do have a project thread on skyline owners but i'm not sure that I am allowed to post links to other forums on here.

nice car, I always like the R34s. I think a sneaky link won't hurt
Are the ownership costs as bad as the rumours have you believe?
