    1995 S2 Avant

Can't believe I have to do this but owing to massive change in personal circumstances I am going to have to let this go after only 3 months
We have not settled in our house since being burgled and I am going from a commute of 6 miles on my push iron to a 40 mile round trip - in money terms from 3 bits of maltloaf a morning to £10 of fuel! If anybody can tell me how to get 40 miles to the maltloaf out of an S2 please let me know...
This coupled with the impending mahoosive rise in my mortgage means I can't justify the expense and our happiness is more important than the car unfortunately.
    MOT October
    Tax end of the month
Massive service history - over £20k in receipts and fully stamped up book!
Full professional respray in original Ragusa - bar the roof.
Refurbed Avus alloys with 4 virtually brand new conti's.
This car has been pampered pretty much all it's life - 6 owners, one very posh one - family is in the Lords - lavished over £11k on it at the main dealers in his tenure.
    153k
    £3795
email for pics and I'll try and get some on here if I have time.

Cheers bud - Going picking up it's £575 replacement tomorrow so what you might see is a dinged and dented old,red,220,000 mile, diesel 80 avant in it's place! Promise not to walk faster than I'm going if you do!
The one positive is we have had an offer accepted on a house in Birch Vale so hopefully in a couple of months we will be happy once again.

the biggest mpg saver i did was vems on an s2.

i bought a rover 620d at one time 60mpg park anywhere. really cheap and saved the s2 from extra miles.

              i then got a 530d msport. bout 35mpg average.

the situation is a little similar to mine now. i spend 100 quid in fuel a week getting to work and back. i used to spend 20. i also earn over 10k less than before.

i cannot afford a car to put my s2 engine into at present. a poo situation

Drove the new beast 185 miles home today! It either does 185mpg or the guage doesn't work properly
My fuel bill would be £250 a month in the S2 which when you consider it is currently approximately £6 in maltloaf (don't know if anybody has noticed but I like maltloaf...) coupled with my £150 rise in mortgage, unkown rise in bills and total wiping out of my meagre savings means I've got to do it.In this it will be £80.
'68 bus is also going to be closely followed by the missus' MK2 Schwartzblau Golf16v with leccy recaros - try and find another one of those!
The things we do for a decent nights kip,a happy life and not to go to jail for murdering a thieving scum bag you find in your house the next time

Right I've redone my sums and with an extra day of aldi beans on toast I think I can afford to keep it.
So for the time being now off sale pending a 6 month review when we move.
Apologies to all those who showed a genuine interest but a big yay for me
                  Chris.

I'm weekend off at work so could be persuaded to combine a walk/look at house with a swift half! Let me know what time you will be about nearer the time.

A crying shame really but the electrics have killed it - can't get the wipers working and neither can my sparky who said the wiring is a mess - unfortunately it's worth more in bits.
