Time to sell my ABY S2 1994 on an M plate.
119 k miles
Priced at £3100 ono.
It’s my daily driver and has been reliable. I bought it in 2000. I have kept it reasonably standard but it has had a few beneficial mods esp. to help handling, and I got fed up changing top mounts so got Pro-Mounts front & rear Mount Savers.
It’s a pre-immobiliser & pre-airbag ABY. Has the usual ABY AVUS 16” wheels.
Black leather seats
Has the not universally admired walnut trim (I like it)
Standard air-con
Original sony stereo
MOT until March 3013
Tax until end Feb 13
Plus points:
Cricket Green Lifestyle colour (love it or hate it),
Mechanically well mantained (VW Audi and Specialist receipts for work),
Paul Nugent original chip 280 (?) BHP,
Suspension mods: front Pro-Mounts, rear Mount-Saver inserts, Koni shocks, standard springs, front RS2 ARB, Rear Whiteline ARB, forged wishbones
Samco induction hoses/Mikalor clamps
Samco coolant hoses
Mark Halligan intercooler mod
Forge 006 Diverter Valve
Front subframe shot blasted/coated - 2007
Subframe bushes / tranny mounts replaced then (with standard) 2007
New standard clutch 2010
New OEM Behr radiator 2009
New afterrun pump 2010
New brake bomb 2010
Last cambelt Sept 2008
Central rear diff mount 2009
Numerous consumables have been replaced as needed.
I have also replaced a number of oil seals, the MFTS and the hard to reach coolant hoses below the water rail as a precautionary measure.
Negative points:
Whereas it’s fine mechanically, it is in need of some paintwork attention. See pics. Nil too bad. A tiny dent on one of the doors, a small patch of corrosion below the n/s rear window, a small area of corrosion from a missed stone chip on the bonnet. Has a few surface scratches.
Windscreen delamination has started on the driver’s side as is common. I had planned to replace the windscreen at the same time as the paintwork was done but haven’t got around to either yet. (I have a heated front windscreen ready for this from the group buy - included with the sale).
Wheels need a refurb. as are showing corrosion in places.
Alarm/central locking - I had an Auto-Watch Immobiliser fitted when the alarm stopped activating/deactivating reliably. A keyless entry system (right-click) was fitted then too. Probably the door microswitches would need replacing to rejuvinate the alarm. The central locking/keyless entry/immobiliser work fine.
Aircon needs re-gas. Works ok.
I can’t claim it’s never had damp patches on the carpets but it’s currently not too bad. Has recently had new rubbers on the door top ends as per the group buy.
As well as the new windscreen I’ll include a new set of original lower door rubbers that I have not fitted yet.
I’ll get some more pics up in the next couple of days.
Thanks for looking.
Please feel free to PM me.
Regards,
Nigel
