Having owned my 92 URS4 pearl white auto avant for the past ten years, I find that I no longer have the time to spend caring for it.
Mileage - 182k, Taxed until end month MOTed till July 2013
When I bought the car in July 2002, it had a full service history, 137,000 on the clock and four previous owners.
July 2003 I had the following done - Cambelt changed, new steering rack, all the brakes replaced, wheels refurbished.
Over the years I’ve had the lower front suspension arms replaced, new fuel tank, fuel pump, fuel lines. Long-life stainless steel exhaust (Cats back). Toad Cat 1 alarm. MP3 disc player. Heated seats still work (lovely when spent a couple of hours on a Sunday morning standing watching the rugby!) Lots of receipts (and lots of pennies spent!)
But to honest I’ve not had the usual problems that come with these cars.
The car is currently on an independently-valued agreed insurance policy for £3,500 on limited annual mileage of 3,000 miles, which is one of the reasons for the very reluctant sale.
I would like to keep it but my average mileage is about 8,000 now, I’m not able to get it in the garage now and not got the time to spend looking after three cars so it’s sat there not getting the use it should nor the care!
It does have a tow bar which we have used three or four times for pulling our trailer on our camping expeditions.
It is a truly wonderful car, which I am going to miss immensely.
The S4 flew through its MOT with no advisory's.
