1997 Runout Mk3 Golf GL, High spec, some mods. Cheap

    NOW SOLD!!!!

    1997 P Reg Mk3 Golf 1.6 (Runout MK4 Golf 100bhp cross-flow engine) 1 Previous owner.

Its time to sell our trusty steed we have owned for 8 years, the quattro is back on the road, so i need to make space on the driveway, this will be a sad day. She’s been my daily driver for the last 3 years whilst the quattro was in bits.

Runout model denoted by completely body coloured bumpers and side trims, extended sill trims and GTi headlights.

Mystic Blue Pearl (Colour usually reserved for VR6/GTI models) this has an awesome Royal Blue/Deep Reddy Purple flick to it, looks amazing when clean on a sunny day.
As you can see in the pic below it comes up lovely and shiney after a little wash and polish.

    Good bits:

Fully working ice cold A/C. (never had to re-gas in the 8 years weve owned) Was an expensive option!
Glass electric sunroof with blind. Also expensive option (usually steel sunroofs) and unusual combination with A/C??
Lowered SPAX supersport suspension (Gas shocks and progressive springs) lovely ride and handling.
Passat GT 15” steel wheels (like G60) with Mk3 centrecaps so look nice and OEM, 4 matching firestone tyres. (Original 14” alloys also available)
Longlife Stainless exhaust , slight blow at weld on centre silencer when hot (seals when cold) may get this sorted soon.
VR6 Cloth interior with rear headrests.
Cat 1 Toad Ai606 Alarm and Immobiliser
Rear disc conversion with braided brake lines all round.
4 x infinity speakers in doors. CD player.
Body coloured badgeless grill (original available)
    Pressed plates
6 months ticket and TAX still on it.
    Recon gearbox with new clutch
    All CV joints
    All suspension
All brakes and master cylinder (in last 2 years)
Cambelt kit and headgasket (20k miles ago)

    Bad bits:

Some bubbling on bottom edge of front wings and small rust patch on tailgate. Panels in the right colour are fairly easy to come by at breakers if you’re bothered as many VR6’s/ GTi’s are being broken these days.
Sometimes struggles to turn over when hot but will always start, its fine when cold (Must be starter motor as it is fitted with a larger capacity Audi battery) but the car is a good starter and always fires up after only one or two cylinder strokes.
Engine mounts are getting soft (engine rocks a little when revving) could do with replacing. But im being a bit critical here

    In summary:

The engine runs really sweet and pulls well, transmission is really plush and tight (as expected from recon box) No squeeks rattles bangs or unusual noises, car has covered 145k miles and i seriously feels like less than half of this! Its been well looked after i know this because we are only the second owner of this car and before that (up to about 75k miles) it was a company car of a colleague of mine (Our company cars are always maintained regardless of cost.
This car would suit being a first dub for someone or a young driver, it looks really smart and goes ok, but is pretty cheap on the insurance, it was my Fiancées first car (she’s going to be heart broken when it goes.

£650ono. (Priced to sell as i need the space)
