      ebay ad here (oops sorry!!!)

      http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/3008237948...84.m1562.l2649

      text cut and pasted.

      1993 L reg.

      209k miles.

Clocks changes so they show 259k. Photos showing old and new clocks together to prove (within 1-2k) mileage. Also old MoTs show a regular 10-12k/year up to the point when the clocks failed.

I bought this car in March 2011 to replace my 1985 Audi 80 Sport as I wanted a cheap diesel car. I am the third owner. The last owner was a Wiltshire Councillor, and by the amount of straw in the car used to use it for transporting stuff for his horses. He had it for about 10 years.

Delivered to Mr Bass of Salisbury on 30 Sep 1993, with private reg J111CSB.

Bought by Mr Green of Salisbury on 3 August 2001.

I bought it in 25 March 2011. and have done 29k in this car.

Gets a genuine (brim to brim) 52-53mpg all day long, on a mixture of A roads and motorways. The lowest I have had is 46mpg.

I have used it for commuting between 60 and 100 miles a day, as well as using it for business trips up and down the country (300-400 miles a time).

      MoT 22nd December 2012.

Here is a thread all about it. Nothing to hide.

      Good points.

Just put fuel in it and go anywhere.

Cambelt and waterpump done in July 2012 (with receipt)

Girling 60 front calipers and vented discs done in June 2012 (with receipt)

Rear shocks done September 2012 (with receipt)

Brake fluid replaced May 2011 (with receipt)

EGR blanking plate fitted (got a spare inlet manifold to put on)

Drivers seat has been repaired and padding has been improved October 2012 (with receipt)

Can be run on vegetable oil (though this will put strain on the injection pump seals - I used to use 50% veg oil and 50% diesel in the summer)

Replaced top seal on injection pump May 2012 (with receipt)

      Has been running on biodiesel.

      Alpine front speakers fitted

      Heated mirrors work

      Heater resistor replaced

      Dash bulbs replaced

Vredestein Snowtrac3 Winter tyres with 5mm tread front, 4mm rear.

      Bad points

Over the past couple of weeks it has been using a bit of water (200ml / 500 miles - I found a puddle of coolant under it a week ago, and I’ve been monitoring it. Sometimes it uses 250ml in 2 days (200 miles), sometimes it doesn’t use any. I have tightened all the radiator and coolant hoses. I can’t find where it is coming from so it is sold with this problem.

Fabric on door cards been stuck back on with Impact adhesive.

Kids have scribbled a bit on drivers door fabric (see photo)

Dent on left rear corner and cracked bumper. See photo.

Scratched paintwork all over (looks like it has been used down country lanes and got scratched). WOrst photo shown,

Bit of bubbling on drivers wheel arch (I sanded it and hammerited it)

When starting the car in cold weather, the clock resets (Bosch silver battery, but it always starts, even in -10C).

Rear speakers don’t work (I took one out to fit some replacements but can’t find it)

Slight clutch judder when reversing up my drive, but no clutch slip.

Handbrake light doesn’t work (probably switch)

15mm chip on windscreen, outside drivers area of view. I have had this checked by a garage and they said it would pass the MoT.

Please come and see it, test drive it before 30th November (when it will be SORN, as from 6th December my insurance runs out, and the new Government regs mean that it either has to be insured, or SORNed) as long as you have appropriate insurance and can prove it.

Rules on what motor insurance you need, what to do if you're in an accident, insurance for driving abroad, penalties for uninsured vehicles and drivers.

      Usual ebay rules apply.

No knobends or timewasters. I have been very honest and thorough with my advert, so I would hope you would be happy with your purchase.

I will not “ship to your shipping agent in deepest Peru with a marmalade sandwich, and wait for a mystery bank transfer or cheque to arrive”. Or take photos of me driving the car while wearing a feather boa (or other unusual requests).

Payment of £50 by Paypal within 24 hours of auction end, with Cash on collection.

Collection within 7 days of auction end (unless agreed by email beforehand e.g. if you're on holiday or something).

Viewing is available in Calne, Wiltshire (21 miles from Bath, 13 miles from Swindon). Saturday morning 1st December or Sunday afternoon 2nd December is good, but evenings are also possible (but it will be dark).

Please contact me on 07971661221 or email through ebay.

I’m only selling because I have bought a Skoda Octavia estate, which is newer but has done more miles, as I wanted a car with a larger carrying capacity.
