WTD: Three door Mk2 Golf GTI 16v

As title suggests, Looking for pretty much a clone of a car that went on here a few weeks back (monkeymagic??)
Atlas grey, Oak green or white would be ideal.

I may sell my 2.0 litre 8 valve alpine white with every conceivable part replaced. The car is perfect and has been garaged through out my ownership (12 years) and never used except dry days. Bit of a time warp car 23 years old and looks 3.
Only thing is she's a 4 door that said you won't find a better example.
3.5 k absolutely no offers. I don't want to sell but with child number 2 due any day can't justify the car collection.

        Ayup

No the S6 is still here as I decided to keep it! After getting a dog I quickly realised what a good all rounder it is!!

The Golf isn't for me, a good mate has asked me to find one and MUST be a 3 dr 16v! Absolutely kicking myself for missing your oak green one!!

Always felt the other way myself. Had 3 8Vs and prefer my mate's valver ABF. 8V being faster is an age old debate but 8V feels too grown up compared to a zingy multi valver. Tuning an 8v is a bit fruitless too, BTDT.

Its horses for courses i guess. I spent time building mine and got 130 bhp. I prefer the engine its smoother than a k let 16v. I had a 16v mk1 caddy that think was an animal cos of the terrible handling.
Anyway i Will stop stealing another mans thread.

                  I had a 2E with 140bhp running a gs2h cam and stage 1 head, it was nice enough :-)

Mine is a 2e bottom end with worked top end and miltek panel filter etc 16v down pipe etc. Very simple engine that pulls well.

Whatever you get, it'll sound mint Just drill the lower half of the airbox and you'll have instant grin factor

i've always wondered about drilling an airbox, I thought about doing it to my 2.0E before I change the engine, may as well! Any info or guides on how to do it as I haven't a clue!

Sorry to also jump on this thread HMS.

Seriously O/T now but hey ho I can always clean it up.

I've done it on every car I've owned, just for some cheap noise. Check out my sticky thread in the intake section, there are some pics. I did a Porsche 996 box the other weekend and that sounded mint too. My S2 box is like swiss cheese, as is my old 172, 318is, Polo GT, 90q, mk.2 8v... Trick is to work out what's hot and what's not before doing it, then drill where it's cold with a 16mm - 25mm bit (wood bit normally ). Checking after a thrash and 30s idling is a good indication. Drill below the filter too!

I used a 10mm drill bit and put about 15 holes in below filter. I didn't drill the engine side though. I also have a SWG motor sport cold air feed which uses front splitter scoop and passes up through the hole in the chassis leg that usually has charcoal canister in it ( think it's a U S only thing) the panel comes out and thread the pipe through and connect to base of filter box. Brilliant.
