Bad bits (It is 20 years old):
Some small scuffs on the rear bumper
Small scuff on the front bumper (NS)
Stratch on OS rear door (Did it when fitting Audi 90 interior)
small paint chips on the front arches
Small (10mm) long crack on windscreen, doesnt obstruct drivers view, passed MOT no worries.
Tracking slightly off
Brake warning light flash's occasionally (every 4th / 5th time) when you fire it up, it goes off after around 20 / 30 seconds, I believe this means the brake accumulator pressure is getting low.
Sometimes when you fire it up you have to turn it over a few times, once its fired up its fine
Other notes:
I've got some gearbox oil which will be included in the sale. It doesn't need changing yet, only bought it as it was on offer.
Can get around 360 miles to a tank (I do around 40 miles a day in it on the motorway and its great)
I've owned this car for just over a year now and I absolutly love it, however, due to me moving house I now need to travel alot further to and from work and I'd rather not pile the miles onto this 80. Since owning the car I've only covered around 6k miles (if that tbh). The car flew through its last MOT with no advisories. The ride and handling is firm and responsive but not harsh, its still comfortable. It doesn't react quite as quickly as a hot hatch but it does still handle incredibly well, everything is tight and doesn't have you believe its covered 163k miles, it handles better than new. The combination of the exhaust and chopped air box and K&N sounds awesome, its only noisy on full throttle, you can cruise at 70mph and still have a normal conversation. The cams made a huge difference to the engines performance, it has little low down torque (no different to its factory
tune) but get it past 4500rpm and it pulls hard all the way to 7000rpm.
Underneath the car is totally solid with very little rust, definitely no holes!
The car is in excellent condition for a 20 year old car.
As you can see from the lists above, I have spent a small fortune on this (+£1500) car and I'm pretty gutted to be having to sell it, I think this maybe the car that teaches me that piling money into cars isn't a sensible thing to do.
This would be an ideal base for a 1.8t swap.
As I mentioned I have spent well over £1500 on this car.
The Borbets are worth about £500 quid on their own.
A deal could be done without the Borbets and the car would come on the original Audi alloys.
After what the car cost me and what I've spent in both money and time this is a huge loss for me but I'm being realistic (or at least I think I am)
Any questions, fire away.
Cheers,
Andy
