Awsome timing Sam, I sent you a PM this moring from the Classic Audi site as i have my car running and now found the cheap supposed uprated clutch I bought from techniclutch slips as soon as it comes on Boost

So which clutch have you bought??

While I'm posting I'll ask Lee the same question - what have you got in yours mate??

this is the last hurdle and then I'm on the road, so I really want it sorted ASAP

FYI its running an AUDI 2.3 20v Box dont know the code, dont know if its helps

          Cheers

          Bry

Standard audi clutch from TPS in mine but I'm still only running 170bhp as of today as been blighted by electrical issues.

I think Sam used the same donor as the one your gearbox came out so he will be best placed...

hi matey, i used the standard dual mass and 228mm clutch from the a4 my engine came from. slipped on launches but if you let it roll forward abit then slip the clutch it would just take off. done a good few thousand miles and only slipped a few times if i tried to launch and then it would sort it self out in a few days lol finally given up now, although you can still drive it and use full throttle but only if you went through each gear first. 30mph and say 3rd gear as soon as it hit boost it slips..
bought an alcon paddle clutch, going to use a redrilled 1z (80 tdi) flywheel and hopefully find a cheap but strong pressure plate.. i want to be able to launch this thing

                  Thanks fellla's

I just wish there was a kit our there off the shelf with guarantee'd results that wasn't nearly a grand!
Its such a pain in the backside to change I only want to do it once more -and I cant affford to get it wrong again, as I'm already £300 quid lighter thanks to those cowboys at TechniClutch

looking at my best option to buy a sachs S4 clutch kit and a 1z flywheel from an 80 diesel and get the bolts re drilled to except the clutch.

Or do I buy another dual mass fly wheel and a sachs clutch kit and hope for the best

One of my biggest issues is I have no idea what the torque - or the power its making to get an idea of what spec to go for.

Any more pearls of wisdom after reading the above waffle will be appreciated as I'm starting to loose sleep over this.

                  Thanks

mines 274 and 310ftlb, and it was a used clutch i used... im running 1bar on a t28 so if your running more boost it should definately be more power than mine... uprated s2 clutch and modded 1z flywheel would be the easiest.. sure its not wheelspin? lol
a mate of mine used a spec clutch on both t34 and now a better spec clutch on his 2l 20v stroker gt30 etc and has no issues with clutch slip..

Erm, could you not use an unrated one for that's meant to go in a cupra R? Similar 20v layout, transverse not longitudinal but that shouldn't be an issue, cupra Rs can hit 350bhp

                          Just an idea

its one of them things, i've been discussing this with bry and he really needs to get the clutch/flywheel off his car to see exactly what they've sent. Techniclutch have a very bad rep on a few other sites with a lot of people complaining about them.

either a 16v or 1z flywheel seems the way to go, basically whichever one he can fit a bigger sized clutch to.

the friction plate ive bought is ment for a cupra r, so fingers crossed its ok lol however not sure if the flywheels are the same, i know the starters are on the opposite sides to each other, and its also a dual mass so extra heavy too.
