1994 80 TDI - Daily Driver -
I took the car for a drive this evening as I hadn't driven it in months, there now appears to be an issue with the brakes. The pedal is very spongey and has a fair amount of travel without much in the way of stopping power. The ABS light is also now on, not sure if the 2 are related but I wouldn't be happy selling a car without the brakes being right. I'll get a look over the weekend and see what's going on with it.
Other than that it drove really well, better than I remembered actually.1996 Audi S6 Avant.

Guys, don't be afraid to come over to Northern Ireland to look at this car I bet he doesn't really have a gun! We all know this is a bargain.

As stated above, the sale is on hold until I get the brake issue sorted as I won't sell a car which I dont deem safe to be driven on the road. I will respond once car is fit for the road. Thanks.1996 Audi S6 Avant.

My 3B felt much the same for the first couple of miles after being stood a long time and the ABS light was on, I started to get concerned that the bomb was duff then it suddenly sorted itself out and is fine now other than the ABS light comes on at 45 MPH which I'm sure is an unrelated sensor issue I think I've now rectified.
Did the pedal bomb test and stopped at 80 odd depressions of the pedal with no change, my was getting very tired

I drove the car again today and the brakes have started to work a lot better, I think it was just due to sitting, there is a bit of travel but an inch or 2 down and the pedal is solid and does stop you (as well as standard brakes do, or mine have ever done).
Still having the issue with the abs light and TBH I'm thinking about leaving it now to the new year, sorting the prop and ecu issues, putting a full years MOT on it and seeing what happens from there. Not that buyers are lining up for it anyway

Well, the car has gone to it's new home (or at least on it's way) this evening. On the drive to meet the buyer I must admit I was half hoping he wasn't turning up and I'd end up keeping (sorry mate).
I'm really going to miss it, I very much doubt it will be my last S2 as I've driven nothing but 80's A6 (C4) and the S2 for the last 9 years!
All the best with the car to the new owner, keep in touch and I hope you get the chance to do more with the car than I have recently.

Already sussed out boost problem (new thermostat needed) and diff knocking (knackered diff + bust mount) so a very productive first day of ownership!Comment

Glad to hear it's getting the attention it deserves.
Best of luck with it, As I said, keep in touch as I'd love to see this getting turned round into a nice car again!
