im happy for someone to pay me more :-) , i did try a late night marks and spencer visit the other day , 9pm shop only open till 10 parked at back away from shop went indide for 25-35 mins came out and a 306 had parked next to me .... THERE WAS A MILLION OTHER SPACES !!
You are really freaking out about this. To some extent that's how I am which is why I end to buying stuff for spares and always have handy if something breaks down. But at the end of the day you built the whole thing so that you can enjoy it.
Who says you wont be the same once you get an rs6? You will spend a lot of money to get it right, and what happens next? Sell it because someone may park next to you on the car park?
The only thing I have said to myself I will do when I get my car totally repainted is to get a translucent vinyl car wrap around it and that saves from minor scratches and potential chips.
As for the underbody I will save you some distress and say in 6 months it will start to get surface rust again. My front subframe was also done, and it looks tatty again. So not worth feeling sorry about it. Just enjoy the car. These vehicles are meant for us to get in them and drive away with a smile on our face. Not just put them in a garage and grab a beer every night and just look at them!
LOL - aside from the above , I would just like a change
RS6 yes I can hear you all say "what an idiot" - but if no one ever tried anything different it would be a boring world , if it blows up or costs me 1000000000000000's il put a thread up so we can keep tally's on my mishap
How about a compromise - buy a C4 S6 and upgrade engine spec to that of an RS2. So you'll then have that RS6 (of sorts) that you're after but still have the best engine note in the world

Keeeeeeeep itttttt! You'll miss that warm feeling you get when returning from the weekly big shop to the car and just staring at it for a few moments before putting the shopping in the boot
