i remember being offered way over the asking price once id taken a deposit, on the asking price.

The seller stated that he had been pointed to this forum YAY!! and also told the car would fetch more money in bits and not to take less than £2500.. People just mess it up for themselves.

I emailed him telling him I would buy it, collect it and pay cash, would paypal a deposit.

i have been offered the £950 by 5 different people, a couple of guys have offered more to end the auction.
if you want it you can have it for £1100 this weekend, if not ill just let the auction run because it will do more than £950

So I said fine I will buy it for £1100, I will paypal you a deposit or come and give you a cash deposit and get the car collected in the next couple of days.

I can see the sellers view point, it's human nature to want to get as much as you can when selling something like a car. HOWEVER, if he wanted to play that game he should have let the auction run it's natural course not had a buy it now figure he wasn't prepared to accept. Or he could have listed it for say £2k 'buy it now or best offer', anyway looks like someone may have a bargain, sorry to hear you got F'd about Andy.

Its just annoying. (However I know how many messers you get when you sell a car, "I will come and buy it", never turn up etc)

I hold things for people that have not even paid, and have been offered more. If something is agreed it is done.

Like buying something on here, paying for it, and then getting the money sent back as the item has been sold again
