For sale is my brothers VW corrado VR6. Its his pride and joy, a reluctant sale, he's only selling to pull together the last bit of his house deposit.

Completely original unmolested VR6 corrado in Candy White with full factory fitted rare Recaro black leather interior.
Recently refurbished original Speedline Wheels with new tyres. and recently fitted with a brand new crate AAA VR6 engine (AAA engine code is stronger and more reliable than the original VR6)
    Full History
Only electrical niggle is that the heated seats don't work.
She's a beautiful high performance classic that wants for nothing! I'll let the pictures do the talking.

    Priced at £2800 ovno.

More info, pics etc available on request.
PM me or contact my brother Dan on 07788797775

    Beauty!

What's the mileage? Also, is he interested in P/X or swaps? Cheers.

      Good question...
123k on the clock. 13k approx on the new engine.
He's not really interested in a P/x as he needs the cash for the house deposit.

Too nice to sell. Should he not take out a 'car loan' to bridge the gap, as the car would be hard to replace, especially with the new engine.

No need to respond to this, just a suggestion.

Very nice example, and well priced. Is he on theCorradoforum? He should get it on thier. AAA is the code for all 2.9 VR motors by the way. Was it a Vege engine?

I must have that code wrong then, i'm sure its a subtly different engine :scratch. And it definitely rings a bell that its a VEGE crate engine... I'll get it up on thecorradoforum too. Cheers!

Sorry I got that wrong, ABV is the 2.9, AAA is the 2.8.

                      that sounds right to me.

I just spoke to my brother and he had a call off an interested guy today but he was concerned that it wasnt the original engine code. So i got my bro to explain to me why it isnt the original engine code....

So in order to hopefully explain the reasons behind the code change, the story goes... My bro bought this car of a real perfectionist who'd owned the car for quite a while, and in that time he'd had to replace the headgasket and get the head skimmed twice. He got tired of this and did some research and apparently the 2.9 ABV engine is prone to head gasket failure in an number of guises due to the cylinder-cylinder wall thickness which is also exaggerated slightly by the VR design. The 2.8 (2792cc) AAA engine block, i believe from the MK3 Golf VR6 is identical in every other way to the ABV other than the bore is 81mm rather than 82mm making the 2.9 (2861cc) ABV engine.
The AAA engine is therfore less prone to failure and is known to last longer than the ABV.
So the previous owner sourced a crate reconditioned AAA engine (reciepts to prove) to solve his woes and future proof the car, which i believe was was a good move! And my bother saw this as a big plus when he bought the car.
The ABV 2.9 does have a slightly higher power output than the AAA 2.8 engine but 80% of this difference is down to cam and inlet manifold design, both of which have been retained on the replacement engine (this is known due to corrado cams and inlet manifolds being popular modifications for the 2.8VR6 golf boys) i can vouch for how well this car runs, she absolutely purrs, but lets out an musical howl when more beans are required And she goes like poop off a popsicle, i have a job to catch her in the S2...
