Sounds about right for one of these, trouble is, if it goes wrong it can easily set you back another £8k in repairs!!! LOL

£1500 insurance is the killer, but its still looking very tasty, its either this or a more boring(economical) A4 2.0TDI 170. Or keep the S2

Keep the S2, easily the best compromise. If that RS6 hasnt had suspension/gearbox work done on it, you could be in for a painful ride financially speaking.

Ye I think im off the idea of an RS6 for now, maybe an RS4 instead but will have to wait till next year for funds. I should really get a car with a higher MPG though

They are a fantastic car and certainly a hell of a lot for the money... just be careful about the history, they can easily cost 3-5k if a few issues arise. To be honest I would say that if this does not have it's suspension replaced recently and a good gearbox service it's not actually such a good deal. ICs are like swiss cheese and if original will need some work.

Mine is going up for sale *shameless plug* it has a leak of the ATF, is due a cam belt service, needs tyres really soon and recently had gearbox issues (its on its 2nd gearbox) but an oil and filter service solved the problems i was having - it was low on fluid - but the Torque Converter looks to have an issue which is a ~2k job (drives fine but doesn't always lock up, giving a bit of slip, could get worse so I am being up front).

Much beter spec - 2008 RNSE nag system, non-res Miltek, BBS CH alloys and spacers plus stock plus alloys, fully colour coded trim and black optics kit, natural leather interior, H&R coil overs, recent alternator, new ICs, new turbos all in the last 15k miles. MTM 508HP gearbox & ECU maps. Has a few minor niggles - couple of broken switches and missing under tray and of course needs an ATF pipe (£100) replacing to fix the leak and prob another top-up on the gearbox oil (I have 3l spare with the car)...

However I'm asking 6995 or 6500 with only one set of rims to take as-is.

I'm keeping the RS2, it's more fun to drive although the RS6 is fantastic and I would keep both if I could!

it has RNS-D, so that's a £500 replacement needed right there. Otherwise its just a hole in the console.
