I'm actively looking for a nice ur quattro.
My aim is to purchase a 1985 or later car that is basically mechanically sound with a full MOT.
Bodywork must be free from structural rust, with the engine, turbo and gearbox and drivetrain in good working order preferably with less than 120k miles. Interior clean and tidy and original.
Service history with bills and receipts and signs of enthusiast ownership would be preferred.
I would prefer evidence of a suspension overhaul including the subframes bushes etc, also it would be good if the cambelt, water pump and associated belts etc,had been attended to in recent times.
Budget is is flexible depending on the model and condition and although I would prefer a turnkey purchase and am willing to pay a fair price for the privilege,the mechanicals and history are more important than bodywork. I have no problem in a cosmetic restoration of a mechanically well cared for car.
