    Audi RS2 Avant RHD

I've not been able to spend much time on here recently due to new arrivals in the family. Twins to be exact! I never thought it would happen, but I've decided to advertise our RS2 for sale...

    Here's a copy of the ad text from Piston Heads;

    £21,500
    117,000 Miles

Quite probably the finest driven example of an RS2 available anywhere on the road today. First class condition inside, outside and underneath.

Drives immaculately. Feels taut yet compliant, with no rattles, squeaks or unwanted exhaust drone. Everything works as it should.

Ever since reading about the RS2 in the press back in ’94, I had always wanted to own one. In 2006, after a long search I eventually found the right car. It had not only the right condition but also the optimum colour, seat and trim combination.

Throughout the last 9 years our RS2 has been well loved and consistently maintained to an exceptional standard – I fully planned on it being a lifelong keeper.

Life however, can take some unexpected turns. I’m now the proud father of infant twins and our perfect getaway car is not getting much use…

1 of 180 RHD cars originally released for the UK, New Zealand and South African markets. As of Q4 2013, just 79 remain licensed on the road in the UK.

RS Pearl Blue paint, blue Alcantara electric Recaro seats, carbon fibre interior trim. Air-conditioning and electric windows, mirror and roof.

Complete Audi/Specialist service history. Next service due 16/04/15 or 126255 miles. Cam belt/water pump/pulley/tensioner/thermostat/seals renewed March 2010. Taxed till end Sept ’14. 12 months MOT.

In October 2011, the car made 392PS and 577NM on the dyno at MRC Tuning, running 1.8 bar boost. Since then, the car has been fitted with a new slightly larger K26/27 hybrid turbo, a new Wagner Tuning EVO RS2 intercooler/exhaust manifold and re-tuned, running 1.9 bar boost.

Whilst unproven, current output is believed to be in the region of 440 PS and 600 NM.

All service components are genuine OEM Audi or Porsche parts unless noted otherwise below. Any deviations from stock have been carefully chosen for their improved quality or performance over the original part, without sacrifice to cabin quality and comfort. All modified components selected OEM black wherever possible. The car appears stock.

This RS2 looks as good as it stops, starts and handles the corners….

All control arm poly bushes inspected, cleaned and lubricated. Front subframe fully refreshed in 2010 with new OEM bushes, engine and gearbox mounts. Main gearbox was stripped, inspected and re-built with new syncros shortly after I bought the car.

The only thing I will say as a dad of two youngsters, it gets alot easier and as they get older you start getting some time back like when they start school etc, it soon comes round.. Make sure you are certain about selling it..

As above. My little boy is 4 and he likes my cars. I drive a R32 and my recent purchase a S2 avant. Apart from the fuel it's practical with the rear doors and large boot too. It will still be a good family getaway car regardless and when they get a little older you will be glad you kept it

Sorry to see you're selling up Lloyd, but congrats on the recent arrivals. I will say though that my kids always slept best in the RS2 and you can get a much better fit on the belt-retained car seats than any other non-isofix car I've tried!

My RS2 was rather neglected for a couple of years though and I do understand how priorities change - it's coming back to me a bit now though and I'll be in touch to ask about parts & suppliers used for the rear subframe and diff refresh

Having been out in the car it really sets a benchmark for how a properly sorted RS2 should feel and drive, after a few years and £thousands my car is still a long way off (although I intend to get there!)

Congrats due for the twins, life will never be the same. I agree with some of the above statements. My boy is nearly 4 and he loves being out with daddy on the car. If your selling because you need the money then i understand but if your selling because you feel you won't have time then that will soon pass.

The RS2 will survive not being NO1 it's a well built car. You will get a couple hours here and there to clean the car/drive it to keep it up etc and time will pass very quickly and you will soon be enjoying the car once again. If you sell i am sure you will if not now in time regret the decision.

                            Ps....It's a beauty cheers Mark.

Got to agree, we are now pretty much the other side of car seats etc and the coupe is a proper weekend car, we use it lots more now that we did in the past to the point where my limited miles policy is looking like a restriction

Kids love to be out in it and its a fun car to take places - home and abroad.

As mentioned, if you are not desperate to liberate the cash from it, then sit tight, you will not regret it in the medium term
