On my frequent hunts for a possible UR Quattro purchase, I came across this S2 on the bay. Have a look at the other items the chap has for sale. Fairly interesting list of cars he has up for sale
Mmmmm, spoke to him tonight and he said there was a thumbnail size bubble of rust near the rear bumper. Also that if he was going to keep it he would replace the shockers because the handling isn't quite right.

Anyone up that way to inspect/get it on a ramp?
See, if it's 14 years ago,and it's been on the road all that time, should be "ok"?
However, written of 14 years ago /2000, it would have been 6/7 years old, still worth a decent amount and therefore suffered a sizeable amount of £££££ to get it written off.
IMO, asking price too much as a Cat, bearing in mind it is generally a third cheaper than straight. If already factored in, does this mean it was £7.5/£8k...
Just saw this thread and was amazed... I have bought 2 cars off the seller (A Coupé and an 80) and had no problems at all. In fact he was very honest and genuine. No idea where some of these comments about the seller have come from, maybe I need enlightening?
And I don't think a car getting "wrapped around a tree" would result in a minor Cat D classification lol
Jubjub makes a good point though, how much damage would it need to have had for the insurer to write off a 7 year old car?
