That's exactly it isn't it, you know full well it'll be cheaper if it stays off the enthusiast/vulture radar, you're just screwing anyone who was trying to keep it quiet by letting everyone know about it...

This particular S6 was one that wasn't even showing up if you searched for "Audi S6" on eBay so it might have been an absolute steal were it not for this thread!

I have benefited from a NCWS post before though, so this whole rant makes me a massive hypocrite, still, it would have been cheaper for someone else

Yep, we are probably all massive hypocrites at one time or another and we all play the system, if there really is an actual system. Buyers want as many people as possible to see their car, sellers looking for a bargain want as few as possible and it should all meet somewhere in the middle with one side winning sometimes and the other at other times.
So never mind all that, did you win the beast?

By posting here it is possible that real enthusiast buys it rather than someone who just wants it cheap to rip it apart for engine.

Regarding the sale price, if that car had sold for any less then £2800 than that would have been a crime (imo of course)

A couple of years ago, that's the kinda price you'd be paying for a very tidy one, nevermind one that needed work to even see the road...

They're a lot of car for the money though in any case, but that's rapidly changing because too many people have spotted their value in parts and supply is getting shorter as a result!
