I'm looking to change this A4 which we've had for just over 5 years and has become my daily after having to part with my S4 in order to get an XC90
. The MOT will be up in January, the insurance is due for renewal and I'd like to change it anyway and wondered if anyone would be interested in taking it for cheap as is.
It's a '99 Facelift (analogue clock) in Hibiscus Red.
Visually it's really tidy but needs the following work:
- Rear shocks
- Front lower rear control arms
- Radiator has a slow leak
aside from this it has the following faults:
- Slightly rough idle, could be plugs as they're due a change, have checked the coilpacks. You don't notice it when driving although crawling in first gear can be a bit jumpy.
- Stereo has volume control issue
- DIS is pixelated, but readable
- One of the ABS sensors is playing up causing the ABS to kick in sometimes at very low speeds (<5mph)
- Intermittent brake light warning appears even though they're fine. Problem is in one of the bulb holders as a recent fiddle improved it but not totally.
So that's a bad stuff out of the way, now for the good...
- The paintwork as you can see in the photos is actually rather good, hardly any stone chips and no swirling. The odd mark here and there and the tailgate plinth is rotten but overall pretty good.
- Pulls nicely and drives smooth (although handling due to above listed items is currently horrible!)
- In last year or two has had a new Bosch battery, thermostat, discs and pads, rear brake caliper, and wipers.
- Interior's in good nick, just needs a bit of a clean before I photo it!, grey checkered sports seats, grey headliner.
It's done 145k miles. Will take £350. Let me know if interested.
